Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

What would you go for if laid off/quit and really don’t like your job?

Would you try another job at the bank or try something entirely different? I’ve been in WF for five years now and I want to leave. I don’t like my job. I initially wanted a career in banking, now I’m inclined to believe that there is no such thing anymore. Five years of working here have also made me question banking as job in general. I can’t imagine spending my whole professional life in the industry anymore. Any experiences or advice with a hundred and eighty degree turn?

You couldn’t pay me enough to get another job with this crooked a-s company!

I'm going to take years off. Ive been supplementing my income for years and have enough dumped away to not work.

I'm going to buy a new car and travel. Everything else stays the same. Go to events, make money through various activities, enjoy the outdoors, etc.

I've actually been netting more involving myself in certain activities than what I gross at Wells Fargo. So Wells Fargo is a garbage job and I can't wait until they close the call center I work at.

If laid off I will retire. I stayed here way too many years and regret it. I say get out while you can. No one needs to work in this kind of toxic environment! It su-ks!

I'm currently in training to get out of banking entirely after 25+ years. I can no longer work for soulless vampires that send banking jobs overseas, steal from customers, keep employees lives in limbo, etc. I'm quitting Wells before the end of Q2 2025. Hopefully I get the axe prior as an added bonus. Either way, I'm gone.

"I would retire and/or do something totally different than IT."

I did and divested myself all my "knowledge", I honestly don't believe I will write another program in what's left of my life. Tossing all my computer language software.

Heh, it took me a little bit to configure my new computer.....................

Cheers!

Go to a competitor and do as much Wells Fargo damage as possible using my acquired knowledge of systems.

I would retire and/or do something totally different than IT. Or do some sort of tech “side hustle”. Basically, avoid corporate world all together.

If I get laid off I'm going to try to pivot to a completely different industry. Possibly entirely different career path.
