Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Got RIF’d today.

I’m vacillating between despair and relief. Honestly my job was mind numbingly boring as I went from a highly active role with lots of traction performing a lot of work to one that did not offer much involvement. I’m not going to let grass grow under my feet and am going tot try and focus on finding a rewarding opportunity. My best to those that also got axed today and wish you luck in finding something better.

I mirror the well-wishes to you!
I hope your next job is chosen in the absence of desperation.
Many big corporations have similar soul-su-king practices as WF. I got displaced after 15+ years at AT&T and then joined WF in 2016, happy for the atmosphere switch...until Chainsaw came along.
AT&T, WF, and other large, publicly traded companies are all currently reading from the same Employee Overlord book.

I haven't been rif'ed but I'm sure that there will be mixed feelings when you get that tap on the shoulder to GTFO. Hopefully OP got a decent severance package.

If you're still on the wagon and not super busy, make sure you make use of all the upskilling rources available. I hate being bored too-- but F it, collect the paycheck, do the work you're expected to do and be ready to find a new job if it comes to that.

“We lost 12 people in our area today.”
Location (and was it a core city)? LOB?

Do spend some time walking barefoot on the grass (underfoot or ingested or better yet both!) though.

I felt the same way you do when I was laid off. It gets better. So glad to have WF in my rear view mirror. Beyond liberating!

Wishing you all good things in the next chapter. Stay positive!

You will find a new position somewhere that treats employees like humans. Happy that you don’t have to keep drowning in the toxic sewer known as WF. Condolences to those that still have to suffer this horrible, criminal leadership. Congratulations on being on a new, positive path!!

Time will be needed to heal. It took me several months to clear the toxins.

Best thing that ever happened is my crystal ball. Best of luck, you deserve better.

We lost 12 people in our area today. Unfortunately I was not one who got a package to get started anew elsewhere instead of this Titanic heading straight for the iceberg.
