Kyndryl is just doing exactly what IBM is doing (Upping utilization level) and yes offshoring legacy as there is still savings to be mined there. With that said do not be surprised if Kyndryl and IBM jump back into each others arms with a legacy non-enterprise outsourcing deal. Both need a win (Kyndryl getting a big multi-year contract, and IBM needing to offload non-enterprise engagements) It’s a win/win for the CFO’s and in my opinion it’s going to happen sooner rather than later. There is a reason IBM thinned the herd last quarter and that was to make Kyndryl’s acquisition as easy as GTS’s was.
Probably Red Hat also
