Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Welp, after 16+ years it happened…

I knew it was coming. Executives gave me a heads up around this time last year it would be coming and we’ve stay in constant communication about it and it’s helpful that this doesn’t feel like a ‘surprise.’ WF always accommodated my personal-life moves and I got to my most recent location around 4.5 years ago, right before COVID hit.
Although I’m listed as “remote,” I was provided an office locally as the senior exec who hired me needed all their people to have office access (the only stipulation they had in hiring me in late 2022). I’m the only one on my immediate team they let go given my location situation, but I imagine they’ll try to slim the team down even further over the next year or so.
Role- Sr. Lead Biz Exec Consultant, officer title of executive director.
I’ve had ups and downs with how I feel about it all, but honestly, I’m looking forward to taking a short break, living some life, and then figuring out my next steps. Good luck to those out there!

My team was told there's enough work until 4th quarter 2025. Guess not, we were let go in July.
It was a tough blow for a few of us that are near retirement age. Starting over isn't easy after being a dedicated employee for 20+ years.

Good outlook, and frankly it sounds like human beings were involved all around. There’s a lot of mudslinging here, much deserved, but it can’t be all mud all the time.

Your lucky it worked out. There was another Business Execution Consultant by the name of Denise Prudhomme who was not so lucky. And the company has not meaningfully acknowledged much less addressed her situation.

If I could write my story this would be it all the way down to the title. told it will be mid 2025 for me. Appreciate my manager being open about it. Take some time for yourself and recharge.

Good luck to you. Things always unfold in a way that hopefully makes us better for it even if it wasn’t what we originally expected or signed up for. I’ll be one of many who will tell you that I’m envious of the feeling you must have right now. Fly free. Don’t look back. Forward.✊🏼

What a great attitude to have about a cr@ppy situation. I have been blessed with a great direct manager and 2-up manager, but the people above them are awful people. Sounds like you are in a similar situation. Wishing you all the best - and selfishly a little jealous you are getting out with severance.
