For SMB & MM sales: managers do better your people are tired unmotivated and sick of it. you’ve been put in the manager position to help them succeed and every sales person I speak (including myself) with is so unhappy. The fact that managers have the power to change mindset and set a positive culture and they don’t BAFFLES ME! No one is happy to work here unless if they being fed deals to stay afloat. Fix this mess!

Well, from a former Mid Market seller, my AT&T sales manager was all about telling us about what we numbers we needed to hit. Bit with no substance on how to hit those numbers, there was no coaching, no out in the field ride alongs or listening to our calls. The sales managers seemed to be there as admins only to report numbers and move people along in the steps to be removed. There is no real training for new hires whatsoever. Thankfully I was able to find a new gig that gives you support along your journey. They only hire people that sell and people that support sellers. They let you go out and sell and don’t mandate you to be in the office so many days a week, and force you to send fake leads to other groups, they let you do your job!
Sounds like Sales is a miserable job
Maybe sellers should just do our jobs and meet customers to grow the business. We were hired to acquire new business and all us sellers do is complain because we’re lazy and just want to work from home contacting existing customers. Do better or just leave.

They are supposed to be supporting their team. Going to the office like they ask their team to do. Going on appointments with their team. Coaching, role playing and helping their team close larger deals. My last manager used teams as their main communication…
What are they supposed to do? Nothing gets installed, all the good accounts people can sell to are blocked off, which is a big reason why nobody is hitting the quotas. AVP and down everyone is handcuffed. Take the money and stop complaining. Or just leave.
