Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Next-to-nothing results

You'd think constantly posting next-to-nothing results would cause some kind of change at the top. I mean, they've tried laying off employees over and over again and things don't change for the better. Isn't it time to try something new? Like getting rid of those who caused this situation?

"You complain about ongoing actions without understanding the goal."
Everyone knows the goal is to reduce head count even though the C suite continues the big lie of "collaboration". However, the true goal could have been attained honestly, less painfully, and less costly.

You complain about ongoing actions without understanding the goal. RTO and scheduled surplus programs are working. Many detractors are already gone. It makes it easier to identify the remaining snivelers in the crowd. We can backfill as needed once we have a rightsized dedicated professional workforce.

the reason the cycle exists, is because those that have the logic and motivation to create progressive change are the ones being laid off. att leadership culls career competition. There's never any real generational handoff, just leads stabbing each other in the back and sneaking into place. RTO is supposed to construct an organic culture, but you are just going to have level 3's and below face to face while level 4's and above will still cower in their fish bowls and airplanes behind secretaries. accessibility with the lower ranks haven't changed now. still the same culture, just displaced torture

Sounds like OP got a hold of the survey results.

The people who run these companies are old out of touch boomers. We’ve seen disaster after disaster after disaster lately if we look at other cases…Dell, Ubisoft, Boeing (big one there), they’re losing the plot and all trying to adapt to a new work paradigm and market.

When the economy changes drastically it’s the old MBA legacy companies with no creatives or engineers at the top that falter first.
