So many examples of this at ExxonMobil. Do you think they are doing anything for your career development if you aren’t a Hipo? Your development plan! What a joke! They have no thought put in on your next assignment or career potential if you aren’t a hipo. They don’t care what your career connect or skills evaluation says. S&D doesn’t screen candidates based on skills. If you buy any of that you are soooo naive. It is all placebo choice to keep the people who don’t matter coming to work each day punching the clock. Hope is powerful and they leave a spark of hope in you until they no longer need you. Usually when you hit your 50’s!

Development plan is just legal cover. If former employee sues EM, it will just be used to blame the employee for not having the right development plan as opposed discrimination or rigged system.

All S&D career development effort is now focused on developing BTC personnel.

Any S&D staff that puts on her PDS about how many HC10 people she helped would be PIPd even if not over 50.

All S&D group and individual goals are based on how many BTC persons they move into development roles.

If you are not BTC or HiPo, even if you are the most qualified, S&D will put you at the bottom of the list for every position. You just have to hope for scraps that HiPos and BTC refuse to take.

Perform your skillset for 25 years, become the recognized expert, and end up hoping for scrap jobs that S&D cannot fill with a BTC.

To much politics. Mgr above immediate to busy sending emails about his week to hold people below accountable or even want to know. Then the guy above him is a push over counting his money.
