Explain that for me. What does that mean and can I get another job during that time?

It is in the Benefit Book. If you take a job within the 60 days you forfeit severance. It is up to you to determine if it is worth losing severance for the security of a new job. If you only have a year or two with the WF, maybe it is beneficial to start a new career. If you have 20+ years, it probably isn't worth the risk.

So much fear-mongering on this board. Last I heard Wells Fargo is not a government entity. No, Wells Fargo (WF) cannot directly query the Social Security Administration (SSA) to determine if a new Form W-2 has been filed for a specific individual.

Here's why:

Privacy Concerns: The SSA is a government agency that is bound by strict privacy laws. It would not disclose personal information like whether a new W-2 has been filed without a valid reason or authorization.

When you take a new job your new employer files a record of your employment with Social Security. WF also has you as a record with Social Security. A simple query at the 60 day mark will reveal any other SSA records filed. Employers do this to verify your social security number and past employment but also created this new way of using the info. WF will notify you that your severance is being cancelled due to job abandonment during the 60 notice period. Its up to you to prove something is wrong. WF does not ask.

60 non working period is a non working period that you are still considered a WF employee some get a 45 day working period to transition the work to a peer. You can get another job outside of WF but if you do you will forfeit your severance as you are still considered an employee of WF. So get your new hire date with new company after your 60 days is up.

I wouldn’t do it, no need to jeopardize your severance. You are an employee of the company during the 60 days. I have heard others say freeze your work number, not sure if that works.

Has come up before many times. Some say don’t risk forfeiting your severance in case you get discovered. Othrrs einder how WF can even discover said new employment especially if you freeze your Work Number info, never mind that Witk Number is not even used by all employers.
