2K-2.6K a month for retiree medical

Just got my SMM from the blue Death Star 2K-2.6K a month for medical for myself and my spouse. If John And Randall did not pi$$ away 167 Billion they would have kept mostly covered management retiree medical insurance as they promised for decades. I pay $138 a month on wife’s plan but how John still has a job is beyond me. Thankfully Medicare in 2025 in my family. Hope any managers thinking of retiring early have a plan as after your medical premium you might have 5 dollars a month left out of your pension for coffee……….

Old folks should pay more. They use more.

Actually, I just read cancer rates are up 30% for those under 45 and no explanation why.

Should have taken the Obamacare money and given corporation a bigger tax cut. Would have created even more high paying jobs.

No way! We got Obamacare, which was the largest tax ever implemented and made healthcare more expensive.

Did I mention I hate Dems?

Yep. The loosing-the-pre-medicare-medical-subsidy carrot was dangled in front of me in 2021, and I happily bit the carrot EOY 2021. I couldn't commit staying w/ the company until I was 65 -which at that time was almost 4 years away. When I ran the numbers -at that time- my medical would have been over $1100 per month. (residing in California). Plus ridiculous deductibles, copayments and dr-g costs!

Any manager that didn’t retire in 2021 (I did thankfully) lost subsidized post retirement/ pre Medicare health coverage and has to pay 100% of the monthly premiums until they go on Medicare at age 65.

You must have retired after 2020.

Post from TheLayoff.com

Where are you seeing 2025 rates? Also, what state are you in?

My 2024 monthly premiums are $184 and that includes dental and vision for single. It is hard to believe they have gone up that much in one year.

OP when did you retire from AT&T? I'm assuming the rates that you mention are unsubsidized...

healthcare.gov is the website. The secret to lower premiums- is your income- if you can live on less, do so until Medicare kicks in-

Why pay that? Go on the open exchange, you'll do better. It's akin to those of you retirees that stick with T wireless because of the retiree "benefit". It is a complete joke that can be easily beat anywhere.

Retiree & Spouse coverage shows 2-2.6K a month depending on plan.

What plan is that? I heard "bronze" is 1300 per month.
