Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Wells Fargo's hustle culture

Wells Fargo culture is toxic as it is, but add to that the hustle element, and no wonder so many people are either leaving, burnt out, or hating their jobs. Bosses here will gladly take advantage of your hard work and praise your dedication with empty words while making sure to squeeze every bit of effort from you. But even if you meet every single one of their demands and expectations, they’ll let you go without hesitation if the numbers (your hard earned pay) don't fit their vision anymore. And they won’t feel a shred of guilt over it.

I'm not sure we're using "hustle" correctly here

So, it’s not managers that chooses who to displace from their team….if it was my manager wouldn’t have let his favorites go— I do agree that WF is now a $hit hole.

Hustle doesn’t equate to productivity, results or efficiency.

The hustle culture is ingrained into corporate America. What is also ingrained is weak managers so the good news is if you push back it will help some. The person that hustles the most gets the most work. Here's a popular saying from the previous generation that might help explain it "if you want something done, give it to a busy person".

Sounds like some folks don’t know how to manage up nor manage themselves.

When you perform over and above you will get a lousy e-card. And your obsequious middle manager sl--eball will use your accomplishment as their own and get RSUs or increased bonus. You are a just a mug as an IC in Wells Fargo.
