Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Stick around until laid off?

I have been reassigned to a new boss who doesn’t like me and I don’t like either. Feel like he is enough of an awful person that he may give a bad review even after all the hard work I do. I am actively looking for other jobs both externally and internally but they may take a while to pan out. With only 4 more months left in the year and bonuses out in February, should I just stick it out and let them lay me off? I think I am required to give extra notice to quit here without being sued/ this year’s RSR being clawed back and it’s very unlikely any firm is going to wait 2 months to hire me. Alternatively, do you think should give my 2 month non working notice and let them pay me before I have found a new job?
Not sure I can make it all the way to February.

Thank you all!! Appreciate it. Committing to stick around, work on my skills and finances outside work, quiet quit, and focus on other things I enjoy.

Bonus not guaranteed if you get displaced. Read the incentive plan.

Stick it out six months. You can do it. If you get laid off you will get the percentage of your bonus you earned up to your last day. If you get 60 days layoff notice tomorrow you’ll have ten months under your belt. So your first milestone is end of October to collect the whole thing. At that point you’ll have four months to go. Piece of cake.

You will get your bonus if you get laid off, not if you quit. Hang in there.

There is no two month non working notice for an employee to get if they quit unless you are under a contract with gardening leave (and it should be clear in the contract on details for that one half of one percent that fits into this). Su-k it up and take what you get. Hey, even talk with the person and try to do a good job on the work you enjoy. If you don’t enjoy things then look for another role and if you get an offer prior to February make the new form pay out a signing bonus.

Make sure you put all your work accomplishments in writing and discuss with your new boss regularly. That way you have evidence and backup if you get a bad review and have to appeal it.

Learn how to "quietly quit" while waiting for your layoff. During this time concentrate on your business. start with "business model you". Work on your skills, your business, your finances etc.
Don't work for your boss's (facilitator's) review. You can do the best job, design and create the best systems and bet that every body else will claim credit for them (your immediate, 2 and 3 up manager).
I would stick it out till Feb and plan for it being laid off at any time.

Job market is very soft. Stick it out, find activities outside of work that distract you or make you feel good, you are almost there.

I had a manager just like that….real a$$. He was the cancer of our team.
Please don’t take it personally— do your work that I hope you enjoy while you search internally and externally for new job.
You can make it to February!!!

I had a manager like that, he took my work and re-labeled most of my completed work to h1 young workers on visa from China.

Talked to my director before my layoff, he thought h1 workers did all the work.

Very tough market right now with elections and who knows if any black swans event(s) might be lurky around the corner. I would stick around unless you found something solid. Save up and don't make any big ticket purchase from now until you find something better. Good luck and pray hard!
