Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Leadership calling on their abused managers to save their network

So after years of taking benefits, destroying the work life balance they promoted, laying off 3/4 of the work force, and abusing what’s left with forcing days in the office, they now call upon us to leave our families and our homes to travel across the country indefinitely to work 12 hrs a day 6 days a week with no compensation? A 60% increase in our time and a serious inconvenience to our lives after all they’ve done to us, and we’re supposed to just take it or be terminated?

Just when you thought it couldn’t get much worse. It gets much worse.

"Union needs to tail a few managers to be sure they are using all proper safety gear and footwear."

Trust me, they do. During the last work stoppage when we went for a call we had someone tailing us. We decided to stop for lunch, put our cones out and went inside. The union boys came in also, got in line ahead of us and ordered their food. So we left while they waited for the sit down meals. F-k'em

“this right here is how you climb the att ladder. he/she who sc--ws the system before it sc--ws them, wins. the company will promote you because it won't know how to beat you. good lesson for all you youngins”

100%
Everyone I know from wave 2 that lied, still has a job making $200k.
A bunch of people who didn’t lie are struggling to find work in this economy and that severance has long run out.
Be like Stankey, lie and cheat.
That’s the culture he wants to promote anyways.

Years ago I would have defended the C-suite and talked sh-t about how everyone who doesn’t want to work is lazy and a loser etc etc etc….but now after all the bs Stankey has pulled with RTO, forced relocation, the union, layoffs, cost cutting, etc…honestly?…
I’m there too, I coffee badge, I lower my productivity intentionally, I just take days where I don’t do sh-t, I think to myself “they’re gonna fire me anyways, fu-k em, why am I working my a-s off just to get let go for something completely out of my control?”

You eventually just stop caring and see it as a paycheck like any other job.

The post below me with the hotel room, burger guy who talks sh-t on teams is a man after my own heart.
In a different life, that could be me.
I understand them completely, probably started here trying to do the best job possible, then came all the bs with Stankey, layoffs, RTO, and just said ‘fu-k it’ eventually and decided to sow chaos among other employees by talking mad sh-t about how garbage the company is, make everyone aware what they’re up to, and take as much money as they can from the company without giving anything back.

I’m there with you too brother, this is what basement level morale looks like - you eventually just stop giving a fu-k and you’re free.

Leadership calling on managers yes, but not me.
I jumped on a flight, checked into a hotel, ordered room service, watched some TV.
Checked in with strike manager this morning and went to the bathroom.
Splashed cold water on my face, and let him know I must have the flu or food poisoning .
The timing su-ks I said. I really want to help out. Went back to the bathroom and sat around on the pot a while longer as I read Fox news on my phone.

After a while I came back out and was dismissed for the day. Now i’m back in the hotel room after grabbing some early drive thru. (I love me a super fresh Burger King Whopper with extra mayo and cheese in the morning).
Couldn’t resist fries and the upgrade to a chocolate shake.

Thanks for the free hotel room and free food. I’m thinking this is going to be a three day flu. FU if you think you’re ever going to control a beast like me you chump.
And you better really hope I don’t get injured on the job. (See, we employees did learn something from you. We learned how to be ruthless, uncaring, and have a complete disregard and disrespect for our job and responsibilities. Just like what you’ve shown all of us.
Busy day for me. After I finish my whopper I’m going to call and chat awhile with my friend that lives in Alabama that just got a Wave 3 letter. I’m pretty sure he’s not doing any work today either. We’ll talk bad about you on MS Teams. I know that the transcripts are recorded and archived, but I also know that everyone is to busy to bother it.

Notice how in the subject line the author states that it’s leaderships network?

This is the culture they have fostered.

Us employees, once believed it was OUR network, that WE built and maintained. That is how you lead a company. You engage your employees and you SHOW them THEY are invested in OUR companies future.

Our leadership is pure sh-it.

Not a single motivating force between the entire bunch. Never, have I heard a single leader even try to motivate the work force or make us feel invested. I’ve seen area managers selling Cutco kn--e sets through poor college kids who can motivate their employees better than these clowns. They failed and they are the ones who should be held accountable. Unfortunately, no one has the desire or courage to do what it takes to turn this ship around. Not a single true leader amongst them.

If you are eligible for OT as a level 1, they have to pay overtime.

If the company wants temp techs to follow the same rules it should properly train them.

It’s called expectations. Company needs to apply their rules to temp techs in the same manner as they apply to the full time techs. If this causes issues with the managers, they can either follow the work rules or quit. No sympathy, no quarter.

Union needs to tail a few managers to be sure they are using all proper safety gear and footwear. Take pictures of any infractions with vehicle plate visible and send them to hr, union, and state osha email contacts from the nearest public library. Remember 7 cones and a safety vest…

No, Union needs to focus on bargaining with the company. You don't think Union people break standards on a job, ever? Not saying safety isn't important, it's just irrelevant to your fight.

We didn’t see one CP manager at our work center over the weekend, I pulled picket duty both days. They are either wore out or preparing for the 90 + degree heat this coming, week. See you at the picket line, it’s good week to not be climbing ladders, going in attics or crawl spaces. Be safe and keep your heads on a swivel.

Former Att tech selling themselves cheap, has no vehicle capable of travel over 20 miles, stole a living off the backs of others and can't get it up. There, fixed it for you.

Back at the lake 🍺 just finished my picket line assignment this AM. Appears the Stank, is doing the stink on everyone, he doesn’t care who gets sh-t on. Keep up the CP work, doing a fine job, will see you in a couple of weeks or more. Just read where Stink was given a $3,000,000 raise last year because he was struggling on $23,000,000, a 13.04% increase, isn’t that special. Yet he is resisting a fair wage increase for bargained, using bad faith bargaining. Bless his heart!

In conclusion, the Stink will continue to use and abuse you, to save a few cents. I’m sure he views y’all as Second Class employees too. Actions vs Words. Now be Safe out there, already had some near fatalities. Hydrate frequently because it’s supposed to get back into the 90’s this week, cold front is over.

Former AT&T Tech. Available 5 hours evenings Mon-Thurs, all day Fri-Sun. $90 hr flat rate plus all expenses for travel outside of 20 miles. Non-negotiable, and unfazed by union tactics. Get a web page up.

They could get the Indian contingency workers to complete any of management’s work whole they are climbing, digging and installing modems and jacks in the south east. This will give more time as contingency workers to make the local managers quit if they complain. So you have RTO and extended contingency combined with no extra pay for long hours. Sounds like Stanks plan.

I might be wrong on this. Flsa laws bases eligibility for overtime on the type of work you actually do. Not your job description. So is it legal if a salaried manager isn't paid overtime for filling in for a position that was determined under flsa laws to be eligible for ot? I would think this question has come up before.

I swear this is just a play by AT&T to get more managers to quit. I wouldn't at all be surprised if it really was lol. They knew many managers wouldn't do this, and I can't blame them at all for not wanting to.
