Thread regarding L3Harris Technologies layoffs

Site closures impact

Any clue as to how many people will be affected in total? Is there an indicated headcount reduction target? This sounds like we will be going through a lot of layoffs for a long period of time, and I’m not sure I personally have nerves for it. This may be the final push for many of us to finally look for other opportunities.

Broadband Communications in SLC won’t get hit, too many programs that earn.
Can’t say the same for BCS in Melbourne.

Any truth to the rumors that the SLC site is going to be shuttered?

no idea, but I submitted a question for the IMS sept 19 meeting. LHXnext is apparently only 3 years of pain, so i asked when employees can expect to be notified as to whether or not they will be affected. I'm they will answer that one clearly and concisely.

An old proverb ;
Only a fool fights in a burning house.
Why are you waiting for the company to change? Do you really think that's going to happen? Another proverb...
Stupid is as stupid does.
Unless of course you are under qualified and over paid with no place else to go. If so. how does it feel to see your bullsh-t running out?

A lot of the closures will likely be smaller sites where there is a bigger facility nearby, or consolidations where we have multiple facilities in the same metro from our acquisitions/mergers. There’s been speculation on here that they may close a bigger site like Ft Wayne or Clifton, but they’ve been spending millions in facility upgrades including building out new SCIFs, so I personally don’t believe that’s likely to happen.

And it's not just site closures, but selling off parts of the business. That can raise some cash which is what they seem to need most.

So they'll sell some site or division off to another company. And that's when the layoffs/closures might take place as they move any income-producing contracts to PB or elsewhere within the existing L3H "footprint."

275 sites down to 200 and 102 sites down to 70 in IMS , thru 2026 .
That's in investor relations in the presentation

Leave! I wish I would have when I felt like I had control over my career. Now I am in a demographically unwelcome group and outsourced to Accenture. I used to feel the same way you do, relief because it wasn't me even though I did everything they asked and more and thinking that it is done. I implore you to retain control of your professional career and livelihood, these energy vampires won't nor will the people you work with.
