Since I was promoted to Customer quite some time ago, I hadn't realized that there was still a TAC left in the US. I haven't gotten a TAC Engineer that I could understand in at least 3 years now.

You mean constant under headcount, always the talk of jobs moving to Bgl.. yeah sure.. people are superhappy here.
Don't forget to factor in.. no budget for travel, no budget at all.
And cherry no the cake, always getting fck'ed in the back by our other CX counterparts as we 'work as one team' 'are one family' 'whatever you beleive'
And let us not forget the downward spiral which started with MM, who got her fat bonus to pay for more chocolates.

No one calls TAC to tell them how good the products are. Obviously, it's the most thankless job in the company.

The irony is the people who actually caused the problems TAC has to fix have little to no accountability.

It's a thankless job. Account manager throw you under the bus. AS throws you under the bus. PS throws you under the bus. Customer Success Specialists or Executives nowhere to be found. Product Managers that refuse to admit bugs. Software that is released without being tested ( Remember Gary Moore, let our customers test our software). Fix our convoluted solution that wouldn't have worked in the first place. Solutions that need to be restarted every day to work. BUSs that refuse to fix issues until releases 2 years from now. TAC TAC TAC. I think TAC is the only thing keeping the company from ruin. If anyone is doing a work stoppage, it should be TAC.

I have seen TAC getting squeezed by account team, sales and customers, while TAC do excellent job troubleshooting and helping resolve issue, their only way out is BU and their escalation process. MM ki-led TAC spirits based on her work at Sales force.

As a TAC engineer, I can tell you I’m having the worst time of my professional life right now.

The stress is getting to everyone, even the remote people. What was a usually supportive team environment has turned hostile and petty.

To me, there are three clear factors saying TAC is in the crosshairs for this LR.

  1. general job openings for TAC engineers (TCE) are posted in Mexico, but the US only has location-specific openings like those in DC and Virginia, mostly for defense or US GOVT work. These are positions that must be in the US.
  1. the change of US PTO policy in the US tells me that “high cost areas” are not just California, but the US a as a whole.
  1. talent incubation programs like CXA are not operating in the US much anymore. I haven’t seen new CXA engineers or interns on my team for almost a full year now.

I’ve been ready for a career change for a while and I think I’ll be ok if impacted. But those who want to stay in this line: please please start looking at US based companies for similar roles. The writing is on the wall.

It’s brutal throughout the company’s break rooms. I never seen anything like this.

Spent many years working in the TAC. It is a soul crushing, brutal job. Word is that the US TAC is moving to Mexico. Other than that, what do they have to be depressed about?
