Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Approximately 1700 workers deployed (as of when?)

From the CP portal, not sure how long this has been up:

CWA initiates a work stoppage in the Southeast, starting August 16
Approximately 1700 Contingency Workers have been officially deployed to their Contingency Assignment.

Had 4 new CP show up at our work location and dispatched out with our local managers. Said they didn’t know what they were doing. Only here because they received an e-mail with their new assignment also, not on the original contingency team. Company is getting desperate and someone is going to get seriously hurt, either an AT&T manager or the public. Get the contract settled!

“Curious? How many older CWA members want to swap real healthcare benefits for garbage benefits?!?”

Hopefully you aren’t believing what the union is saying on the D3 site. If the healthcare plan is like management then they don’t pay for the entire cost of a prescription up until the deductible is met. That is hyperbole and simply not true. More progress would be made if both sides were being honest during negotiations.

5-6 months sounds like a union bust attempt to me. I think the union should give in and let the managers have their way

“We’ve constructively negotiated 3 agreements already this year, including a recent tentative agreement in the West 3 weeks ago. This agreement includes wages that exceed projected inflation and many other standout benefits, like wellness incentives, fertility services and a new, unprecedented company match for HSA contributions - up to $2,000 a year.“

“This ship is massaging an iceberg , hoping for happy ending.”

Company implodes, Stankey and a bunch of the bod leaves new management comes in, sees the light makes a deal rolls back RTO, etc etc etc.

Definitely would be a dream, but unlikely.

More likely would be company implodes, Stankey stays and just blames everyone except himself, boomer BOD says ‘sounds about right’ and nothing changes.

At the end of the day both managers and union will get let go by the stank. It’s only a matter of time. Management jobs get outsourced to India and union jobs get outsourced to 3rd party. This ship has sailed.

Strike goes on for 5 months a lot of managers are going to get let go. With no innovation, we balance spreadsheets with headcount reduction. Thanks for your irreplaceable contribution.

New kid on the block and ready to rock! I'm getting a Benjamin a day for per diem and some serious hourly dough. I'm the Calvary and Bell bouys are the Last of the Mohicans.
When has a Stanley plan failed? NEVER!

I plan to quit this week. Got a new job lined up. This CP coverage is insane. My job role with teammates being surplused is insane.

I've been hearing 2 months minimum, up to 5. Not sure what we're gonna do in IHX, we're quickly running out of things to do without dispatches. The few we're getting are among the worst I've ever been to in my 4 years in this role. I'm actively looking to jump ship to somewhere else now.

Who is going to want to switch to att for wireless after being without internet for weeks? Or their installs at their new home being pushed back? And what do we do since so many of our engineers have quit? This company is a mess.

I was told 8-12 months and a discount at Waffle House. Hope it doesn't go through Mardi Gras.

I was told the same. strong likelihood of 6 months, had to fly out last week. Sure hope they don't keep us deployed during Christmas while Stankey snorts his bread putting.

I’m in a new city and have been told that I should plan on being here for 4-6 months. Talk behind the curtain is that some ( who knows how many) replacement workers will begin in 60 +/- days. Hmm we’ll see I guess.
