“ heard from a reliable Dallas RAN contact that all RAN will be under Ericssen the next few years; pls be smart and prep yourself; they keep it very quiet from the engineers who work very hard”

Nice try..I am quite close to and knowledgeable of the agreement and future plans between T and E and there are no plans to outsource RAN to Ericsson. The people who keep posting this rumor on this board are doing nothing but attempting to cause trouble and unrest , perhaps even trying to inspire some RAN employees to quite for few of this happening. It’s not happening….leadership know the heart of its value is in its network and the people who design, maintain and operate it. So cut the BS….stop making up stories

I can’t believe RAN is being outsourced. That’s crazy.

I work in the network area for the migration to Ericsson.
There’s been no talk of layoffs for any of us, and we actually need more people if we’re going to get everything done even remotely on schedule.

I hope they don’t turn it all over the Ericsson, I’ve seen their work, it’s even worse than normal T output. It’s bad and they’re slow.

That being said, some have been given extensions with RTO, but that seems to be the real reaper that takes all no matter what.

“ We know the amount of the Ericsson contract and we know that executives lie about layoffs. That’s all we know for sure but we surmise the Ericsson contract would cost ran jobs.”

Surmise all you want, RAN isn’t being outsourced to Ericsson no matter how many times you post it

Technicians are the safest employees within ATT. I am very low in seniority and have no fear of being laid off! We have enough work to keep us busy and am quite sure I'll be able to retire from T some time down the road!

“it's abt time they clean house under Sambar, as majority of RAN (including optimization teams) will be going under Ericissen, who doesn't care for all the overheads”

Once again a complete fabrication. AT&T is not farming RAN functions over to Ericsson. This is the same lie people were pushing in January and it was not true. There is nothing in any existing contract with E for this and no plans. T leadership recognizes that such a model failed elsewhere and that not retaining control over engineering etc is a fatal error. So stop making cr-p up. I speak from an actual position in which know it’s a lie.

Sambar/Choy/Wilson org doing some consolidation to meet the director ratio. So many directors in towers and roaming don’t meet the direct report ratio.

Choy org is approving generous relocation packages for directors to move to Dallas.

Surprised Sambar is approving especially during this time but he is —- my friend saw the list.

More $$$$ spent on Directors. No L4s moving.

Any idea on how many L3/L4 impacted?

L3/L4 first impacted this round. Director needs 10+ reports, Associate director needs 12+ reports. Small groups will merge

Surpluses are across the board. No org is safe. Unless you are located in India.
