Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Burnt 🥵

God. The people, the work, the values…. I was sold over years of service to love that company. Now I’m staring down another layoff after being told we are done? Also, until yesterday it said on the company home page “no layoffs planned at this time.”

Busy employees or hollow values? It’s hollow values demonstrated by behavior. It’s that simple. I’m going to self select out.

Why did you "love" the company in the first place? It's a job. That's it. Glad you've woken up and realised the HR claptrap is exactly that - claptrap.

The company has simply turned into a system where executives focus on their own takeaway financial rewards, at the expense of tens of thousands of hard working people.

This company leadership philosophy is also sadly the same framework as our governmental system. We are too bloated and essentially bankrupt as a country.

The prove repeating cycle through the ages, through thousands of years, is all civilizations run their course, end, and start again. Between those transitions, are long periods of very tough conditions where few survive the changes.

It is an illusion to not believe we are immune to the next big change in government and country, not only our own; but for the whole world.

The question then becomes how does the individual chooses to live their life, given the circumstances they are born into, and the realization that one person has a low probability to change any of it.

I am glad that Mother Nature has however provided us with plants that can make our lives better. Without a certain breed of plant, my life would be much tougher.

Nothing like an AM coffee and good smoke-fest. Now back to work, Pilgrims.

At least they are making these layoffs public. Between 2012 - 2015 they were eliminating jobs & departments with zero announcements. Made it look like people were PIPd
