Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

What’s with people reporting being laid off for the past few days?

Individual or limited occurrences, or there is more to it?

ACS got hit hard. Move or you’re fired to everyone not in Dallas or Atlanta. Some L3’s and L4’s kicked without option to move.
Brutal destruction and lots of good people will be gone.

The strike has not forestalled the previously scheduled overhaul/reorg to "right-size" the company for the executive suite's bottom-line plan. The work hasn't gone away, but it will be relocated , probably off-shore or otherwise contracted out.

The c-suite has read their Machiavelli. They know that times of disruption are the best time to stab their friends in the back. They can then blame any disruption caused by the layoffs on the Union and their work stoppage.

Stanley making bank, balancing the deficits. Head count reduction is innovation, consumer reduction is less overhead. Freedom is slavery.55

Shocking isn't it. This action by my company would be disgusting if it affected me. Just checked the latest posts while taking a break. Oh well, have to get back to class, as DEI instructor it's time to assign pronouns.

I’ll answer it straight since this person is gonna get mad trolled due to being seemingly clueless about what’s been going on for years.
T performs non-stop layoffs.
~4 years ago we had ~240k employees, now we’re approaching ~100k and being under 100k is Stankeys goal.

There’s been non-stop changes to make working here miserable for literally everyone, the boots on the ground union guys, techs, contractors, management, software engineers, RAN engineers, they don’t care - they want to cut EVERYONE!

If you work here, your time is limited due to the simple fact that if Stankey could he’d have 0 employees except a herem of secretaries, and whoever maintains his private jet.

The layoffs will never stop, it isn’t gonna get better, if you move you’ll be laid off too.

T isn’t a telecom company, it’s a dividend market instrument, our product isn’t cell, or fiber, it’s the stock and that’s the ONLY thing Stankey cares about - pushing the stock price up in the short term so him and all his buddies can use everyone else as exit liquidity.

In my Director's team we are getting rid of over 65 crew, several of them. These people should have already retired. The company is doing them a favor and opening slots for younger more energetic employees that get the current technology world. Some of them taking it well, some of them crying as though working for AT&T for more than 20 years is not sufficient compensation. Bunch of loser boomer geezers.
