Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

D3 Strike to continue

Strike paychecks should be handed out or mailed on Tuesday.

Kind of the managers to volunteer to work while we are in contract negotiations, striking and on vacation. Some managers are getting paid OT, others are just salaried. Wonder how those not getting any extra compensation are feeling about those that are raking in the OT? I’ m sure those getting paid OT are considered First Class vs those salaried, who are just Second Class according, to the company negotiators definitions of a 2 tiered class system. Both work the same amount of hours doing the same job but their compensation is massively different. I wouldn’t be very unhappy if I were the non paid OT manager, seems a bit discriminatory.

“That 1% lie again. Mgmt is keeping the pace. You just can’t handle the truth. I’m looking at the data right now.”

I don’t know about the 1% but no way are we keeping up so, shut the he-l up inside managers, stop posturing. If we are so caught up then why are we forced 12/6 and contractors are being brought in to help. You aren’t out here in the blazing hot sun, sweating your azz off, being forced 12hrs-6 days a week. All the managers I’m deployed with are more than ready for this to be over. This is hot dangerous work that we are barely qualified to do and we are working two managers per vehicle. I can’t imagine having to do this by myself like the techs do everyday. I’m a realist, they wouldn’t be proficient at my job as I’m not at theirs, we are a team. The majority of us managers in the field are with you. Hope this ends real soon and you all get a better than average contract.

"Management is keeping pace and doing well. Showing just how replaceable you all really are."

Nope -- ATT has brought in contractors to handle repairs because the CP managers were clearing less than 1% of the tickets. The contractors are getting $200 an hour. This is going to hurt ATT but Stankey has a culture to change.

I am deployed to this God forsaken place managed by imbeciles that sit behind a screen and say yes yes to their upper ranked imbeciles saying yes yes to their upper ranked imbeciles. It is hotter than a fresh french fry in grease and I am scared crazy over some of these subhumans canvassing me out here on the street. Nothing is working out and I feel like a billboard with a target painted on it but yet they say you guys missed the mark. I hope they miss me.

I’m a CP manager. Essentially giving the company that treats me like sh-it 24 hrs of my time for 7 days a week, indefinitely. Away from my wife and kids who cry to me every night on FaceTime and ask me when I’m coming home. To which I can only say , I don’t know, but I hope soon.

Of course I’m not happy about it. It su-ks.

In addition, I’m working 12 hr days 7 days a week. Next week will be 12 hrs and I actually get 1 day off. It’s extremely hot and humid and I have to constantly wipe the sweat off of my face. Taking a shower is the best part of my day.

If all of this is funny to you, you’re a piece of sh-it. I’m a human being and your coworker you azzhole. GFY!

CWA - ignore all the fear mongering from my fellow managers. They are extremely anti-union and don't give a f4ck about you.

On the strike continuing, the longer this continues the smaller of a work force will return. Wire Techs specifically are fed up with the second class treatment, are actively seeking and finding other employment. They won’t return so, managers that have direct reports better get ready to train up more new hires once the contract is settled..

Managers are forced to cover CP, we dont volunteer. Strike as long as you need to though. It forces the company to evaluate itself.

Thanks for the update on pay. I’m picking up some chick-fil-A biscuits for everyone at the line right now. Can’t wait for the GA vs Clemson game on Sat. at 12 noon. Labor Day I’m staying home, resting and throwing some 🥩 on the grill. Be safe out there managers, see you at the line.

I’m an L2 manager and you have completely missed the mark. Nobody enjoys working 12 hour days whether they are salary or hourly, but we aren’t crying in the fetal position either. I don’t know who got you all wound up tonight, but what’s really going on is nothing like you think. You may want or wish that to be the case, but it isn’t for the vast majority of BCP deployed managers. Enjoy your vacation, time away, or whatever you’re doing over the holiday weekend. We are just fine and hopefully this will be over soon.

L3 here, you two mo--ns need to stay off this site. After that fiasco in Florida we are already in over our heads.

More than likely managers who are working will get recognition and a bonus while you will get your benefits cut in half once is all said and done. Sad but truth.

Recognition, that is funny. Stankey values you, maybe in your mind...
Much more likely the managers will get a special coin worth $.47 commemorating the Strike of '24. Upon return from CP duty there will be plenty of layoffs.
Wait, you are essential and not sent to a CP assignment, layoff for you too. Stankey has many layoffs to go around and has one for you.
You are not special.

I’m a L2 ‘manager’ … actually prefer exempt/salary , much less stressful (for me) than having to deal with the time-card stamp micromanaging that comes with being non-exempt. I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule and less time reporting.
