Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Remember Friday early dismissals on holiday weekends?

I have been in banking and/or corporate America for 3+ decades and everywhere I ever worked let their employees out early on holiday weekends as a nice reward for all the hard work, etc.

WF did this too.

Until CS got here and took it away.

Just another example of how awful this place has become.

I’ve seen it where upper management says one thing and then it was translated to something entirely different depending on the group. One person can say 2 hours early and then I would hear 3pm. My jaw hit the floor when I moved to a different group and they said 1pm! Leaving early was so rare during my 27 years at WF.

This has definitely gone away or diminished significantly since Shart. Sad times

Never heard of early dismissal. All of you must be clock punchers.

We are always told we can leave early before a holiday. Not Sharf, more your management chain.

Your manager is watching you today all day. If you leave early you are fired next week.

Unless you are in an office with your manager—just leave!! If your manager is in today throwing out deadlines for 3pm…then leave when completed….🤷🏻‍♀️

Leaving at 1pm EST, CIB. Guess it depends on your manager and his/her boss.

I'm wondering what planet these people are from too today. I got 2 new meeting invitations this morning and sitting here at noon meeting with no lunch break with an ask to deliver by 3. Do they not know that people are dropping like flies and you need weeks if not months to get things done. Plus all the people that are out today. I'm keeping my mouth shut but really wanna say, "Hey leader, you just got back from two weeks vacation. The rest of us have been working hard, and no - can't make your whims come true last minute on a holiday weekend."

in our group they stopped doing this year's ago because since not everyone could or would be allowed to leave early it was deemed unfair and thus they changed it. If you are an exempt employee just sign off after 5 hours.

Not only that, but back in the day it wasn't uncommon for a pretty coworker to stop by your desk and reach into your trousers with uninterrupted eye contact.

Not anymore.
