Another company update

Letter to employees: An update on the Southeast work stoppage and contract negotiations

We continue to negotiate in good faith with the Communications Workers of America (CWA) in the Southeast as we have from day 1. We brought in a federal mediator because we have always been ready to make progress, contrary to false accusations. Despite our sincere actions, negotiations have made little progress, which is much less than we want for both our employees and customers. Unfortunately, the work stoppage is still ongoing after 14 days, with no confirmed end date at this time.

We intend to meet with the union over the weekend, with senior company representatives committed to working tirelessly to reach an agreement as quickly as possible. You should know that the CWA’s allegations of unfair labor practices have no basis in fact.

As we’ve shared, our goal is to reach fair and competitive agreements that recognize the hard work our employees do to serve our customers, with market-based pay and benefits tied to cost of living and projected inflation data. This is true for all employees, management and non-management alike.

We are proud that the company has reached 14 labor agreements since 2022, 3 this year alone, including a tentative agreement in the West, all providing impressive wages and benefits that support our employees’ total well-being. We are committed to working to get to a deal in the Southeast so that our employees can focus on what they do best - serving customers. But given the current competitive markets where we operate, we cannot sustain the business for all employees by agreeing to demands that are disconnected from market and competitive realities.

In the meantime, we will stay prepared for all contingencies to provide the great service our customers expect. Given the lack of progress, we will be working to provide some needed rest and further bolster our temporary workforce in the interest of our customers.

"Aww, the CP force needs some rest already. So much for the brag about how much better they are than the techs that get forced day in and day out all year."

The only ones bragging that the CP force is even close to being qualified, let alone better, than the techs, are the C Suite id--ts that are purposely oblivious. Any manager that has been subjected to the "training" knows that we don't know a damn thing about actually doing the job. The training is worthless. The CP force needs rest already because they don't want to be there, they are probably bored, and the recognize what a waste it is.

So we are arguing for pay that is tied to inflation. Does that our pay could potentially adjust down as inflation drops? Does that make sense to anyone? Inflation rates are generally temporary and fluctuate often.

Aww, the CP force needs some rest already. So much for the brag about how much better they are than the techs that get forced day in and day out all year. The CP crumbled after two weeks of working. 🐈‍⬛ we need some relief, Whaaa! One week was nice and cool too.

Those “overweight lazy union slugs” must be tougher than you thought? 😂 😂

A few years ago stock was over $29 in Feb 2020. Aug 2000 it was over $43.

Their stock price is and has been an embarrassment. It was around $18.00 a share during Covid on average. It should have been at least $200 easy. Go figure.

"with market-based pay and benefits tied to cost of living and projected inflation data. This is true for all employees, management and non-management alike."

As a manager I can say, this is a flat out lie. Our pay, and raises, are not tied to the cost of living in any way. When inflation was in double-digits, our average raise was 3%. How was that "tied to the cost of living"?

"Asking employees to pay more on healthcare and lower wage increase than on West TA"

Unhappy where you are? Go west, young man, go west!!

If they are so proud of the last 3 agreements then why haven’t they offered the same for D3. Asking employees to pay more on healthcare and lower wage increase than on West TA right now. Been bargaining in bad faith from the beginning or charges wouldn’t been filed and members striking for so long. Don’t believe your lying eyes.👀

Negotiations are at a stalemate. The membership needs to change the status quo. They have a better chance of forcing a change of their bargaining team than receiving the demands the company has rejected. The CWA holds out for unrealistic expectations while their membership pays the price.

This Statement strongly reflects the resolve of the company. Are the members of the CWA simply along for the ride now, or do they have a voice in replacing their negotiating team in an effort to mitigate the personal losses they are incurring daily? Are they stuck with what they currently have as a negotiating team?

P.S. We also spent last night reviewing the (what we now call) The Florida Beatdown wondering how we can replicate it in other locations.
