Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

The company needs this lesson.

Every so often the company needs this lesson. They are quick to forget the previous one. That is human nature to forget the bad times. I get it.
Now that the "unneeded" Union Slugs are not doing the company's bidding, there seems to be some concern.
Why is that? The company should be smooth sailing as they tap into a vast resource of contractors, the same unemployed contractors just waiting, waiting for the chance to take their 25 year old F150 with neck tats to do an install.
The CP managers certainly tow the company line considering how they have been ph--ked.

AT&T repeats history over and over again. In IT, we've been through the cycle of "get rid of contractors, we need to own our systems", so "have contractors take care of systems so our employees can focus on what's important" has happened more times than I can count. They even go over "why is this time different", and then state the exact same reasons as the last time.

Don't ever expect anything to change at AT&T. If you look in the past, you can easily predict what's coming.

Let us examine the rusted out, salt damaged Dodge vans that carpet baggers from the North arrive in. They see a little day labor opportunity and they leap at a chance to be a scab. They will be rewarded with a magnetic "AT&T Authorized Contractor" sign on what is left of the door.
He rolls up, full tats arm to neck with a cig in mouth. Felony record, check, background check, negative.
I'm here to to install your high speed internet (and loot your jewelry from your bedroom, because me-h don't buy itself).
I'll admit it is a little better than the guy with the 25 year old F150 trying to do installs, but the company is getting a little desperate.

Just finished my DEI training. Don't mention spanking. I never could get verification if the new term " forced posterior enhancement" meant the same, anyway, it was the only chapter that had pictures showing sp--k and rub, sp--k and rub.

In a statement sent to Newsweek, a spokesperson for AT&T said, "We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our contingency employee in this tragic accident," adding, "our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues." It’s dangerous using a bucket.
