Labor Day - another paid holiday organized by unions

From Wikipedia:

“Beginning in the late 19th century, as the trade union and labor movements grew, trade unionists proposed that a day be set aside to celebrate labor. "Labor Day" was promoted by the Central Labor Union and the Knights of Labor, which organized the first parade in New York City. In 1887, Oregon was the first state of the United States to make it an official public holiday. By the time it became an official federal holiday in 1894, thirty states in the U.S. officially celebrated Labor Day.[4]”

‘ The targeted people reading this post care, several will be eating with me 🍗 🥩 🍉 🌽 🍺. Will have a repeat on the picket line next week. Stay cool and safe out there. 🏖️’

I’ll be sitting in my air-conditioned office making 50% more than you do watching you guys sweat it out from my big window. May bring in some co-workers so we can discuss which one of you entitled folks is going to die from a heat stroke or heart attack first. Got an office pool going. So far Billy is in the lead and Jimmy’s second. Peace out!

Re, Sounds like a speech.

Education isn't your forte is it? You certainly don't have time now do you? I actually smoked some pork and chicken to celebrate this Labor Day. Grilled corn and potato salad followed by watermelon. Burger King is open if you get hungry.

Sounds like a speech I heard from the government. "the government did something good in the past, that means more government overreach is good."

It’s interesting how people don’t want to talk about that period in time until it suits their narrative.

“Company trolls, you do realize most households have two earners, right? ”
How many kids are living in single parent households?
Of these dual income households, how many are able to get on the spouse’s benefits? Even if eligible, do they have your round enrollment?

“Labor Day cook out menu is ribs, chicken and grilled vegetables, dessert is watermelon and banana pudding. Pretty much like a picket lunch menu.”

Nobody gives a 💩what you eat. Why do you think we care? When your big a.. has a heart attack and you have no health insurance, you’re going to be in trouble. Don’t forget what the Union says”. ‘No pay, cobra and withdraw from your 401K for your brothers’.

"stop worrying and let us enjoy our time off away from toxic people like you"

I'm with ya, buddy. I would prefer all of the CWA ilk spend the remainder of their careers away from our workforce.

Question. Once the CWA is gone we still get a paid holiday, right?

Company trolls, you do realize most households have two earners, right? Some Mo--ns still think it’s the 1940’s with June Cleaver as a housewife and one family car. We will survive so stop worrying and let us enjoy our time off away from toxic people like you.

They do have a Capital Day. Some celebrate every Jan 6. C'mon you knew that.

In a few months the picket line menu will be spam and Vienna sausage.

There should be a Capital Day. Capitalism creates jobs not unions

I already paid myself to have the day off, will be enjoying a day off from being forced to work in the heat. Labor Day cook out menu is ribs, chicken and grilled vegetables, dessert is watermelon and banana pudding. Pretty much like a picket lunch menu.

How many years will it take to break even from the time you are not getting paid? Cut off your nose to spite your face. Not too smart.

I bet the union hating managers that post on here regularly will take the paid day off. Just like all the other union fought for holidays, can you say hypocrisy.

labor day should be a day that all managers have to work so that they don't take workers for granted and appreciate workers for all they do.
