Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Can someone please ELI5 the different IPPs?

I know there have been basically three different IPPS that craft is occasionally offered.
IPP, Enhanced IPP and super EIPP I think? What exactly is offered with each type? Is the extra cash given in a lump sum or over time? Thanks in advance for any info.

So was the recent offer considered the enhanced ipp or the super enhanced ipp? I know it wasn't the most basic one.

I am wondering whether the Union will give their blessing, and their okay, if the Company should decide to allow additional union members to volunteer to leave beyond the stated number.
I realize that unions are not only an advocate for employees, but are also a business, an enterprise that has bills to pay, salaries that are due, 401(k)s for their e-boards in some instances, meal and business entertainment credit card accounts, political contributions, travel, rent, legal, and the like.
I hope that they'll recognize the fairness in allowing those that have paid their dues the longest, and who might be tired now and in need a well-deserved rest, be allowed to do so with dignity, rather that waste more of their time on this earth as a means to squeeze a couple of years more dues out of these tired soldiers.

regular ipp vz offer you 40k plus 10k termination so 50k to leave likr 17 up frt and tye rest paid over certain amt of yrs like 48 months..enhanced ipp they give you 40k plus 10k so like 50k plus around 10k to 30k depending on time in service..super enhanced ipp they give you 40k plus 10k plus extra 18k plus 30 to 50k depending on your time so like from 90k to 130k ,plus no penalty for leaving early ,maybe a bump up in your pension band..last package is not a bad deal if you ready to leave..but they only want 78 tech to leave so if you dont have like 37 plus years i dont think you will make that list..it is what it is..
