Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Dear Wells Fargo Leadership

Well, you’re back in the national headlines for a dreadful reason. Charlie and Scott it is really not that hard to publicly say -
“We’re sorry” 😞 one of our employees had an unattended death in a corporate office and was not found for 5 days. Clearly, this is an example that our RTO mandate did not meet the collaboration criteria, otherwise someone on her team would have realized Denise was not actively working. Regardless of our company RTO, location strategy, layoffs and move to off shore positions Denise was one of us and we are profoundly sorry for her loss under these terrible circumstances. Our condolences to her family and to the broader WF team we will strive to do better.

Now, that wasn’t too hard…your turn.

Remember, the global employee survey comes out September 4. Be sure to fill it out and be completely HONEST. Blast management with the lowest scores ever.

Communications, PR, and crisis management people need to see this.

I'm guessing the employee's manager will be fired (or conveniently laid off) because the manager clearly didn't keep in contact with their employee. (Which, of course, is nonsense since most of us in staff position barely hear from our managers more than a few times a month, if that.)

@1odw+1uikgVBm - F off! You are a cold hearted @sshat. Wonder if it was YOU who died at the office would your family and friends say to drop it already? You are a complete pr--k. Karma is coming for you!

Thank you OP for saying what so many of us have wanted to hear. There have been many days when I went into the office and didn’t speak to anyone the entire day. Sometimes the only in person conversation I had was with the person cleaning desks and bathrooms. My boss actively avoids responding to me and my skip level manager hasn’t spoken to me in over a year. So when this news came out, it felt personal. Friends and family read it and just said it was another sign the company was failing. Why can’t Charlie, the board, and all of our leadership see it?

This should be the only question submitted at every town hall.

In Shart and SPs eyes, their plan is working perfectly and they have nothing to apologize for. That's what we're dealing with as employees.

The strategy they are following is the same as the Indian urination situation. This is yet another showcase that this bank never learns. There is no assessment, no feedback, no accountability at the top.

"Wait it was 5 days now?!" My understanding is it was 7am Friday to Tuesday at 4 pm so 3 business days and 2 weekend days. but technically 4.5 days.

Oh, I get that Legal, Corp Comm and the Operating Committee would like to live in a no comment bubble, but it is too late. This news is everywhere, people are appalled and these folks need to put on their big boy and big girl pants and acknowledge what we all ready know. This is symbolic of the culture the Operating Committee and Board of Directors cultivated with Charlie. And, now they think 🤔 silence is the better part of valor. They are a day late and a dollar short. And, we should never allow them to forget this. #DeniseStrong

While I personally agree with you, our entire corp comms team was given strict guidance from legal and the operating committee not to say or acknowledge anything further on this situation. It’s unfortunate but it’s being handled like any other previous negative headline we’ve faced in the past.

They don't want to make any announcements to avoid anyone that didn't already hear about it to find out.

Thank you for saying this - it's too bad Charlie and the others won't. Let's say they do say something next week - it will sound hollow. Not unlike most of their forced communications related to social topics.
