Strike Maker and Strike Breaker!

The CWA is acting as both the caller and the breaker of this strike. The union is asking us to maintain the picket lines while only offering a meager, taxable $300 per week. It's clear that the CWA does not want the strike to continue, as the strike fund also helps cover the National Union's overhead costs.

If CWA is serious about maintaining the picket lines, it needs to align with what other unions are doing. For example, the Teamsters pay five times what a member pays in monthly dues, and the UAW provides $500 a week. We call on the National Executive Board to increase the weekly strike benefit immediately if they expect the picket lines to hold strong. We need our weekly strike benefit to be doubled.

I agree with the post. It's barely enough for gas and lunch.

  1. W.A. if you want to keep us strong, pay us enough to at least be at the picket line for the next few weeks.

Serious question……. Are Claude Cummings or any people who are paid by the union forgoing their salaries while the rank and file are not working and not being paid? If any one on the CWA payroll is being paid their nice salaries (look up what Claude makes) then all this unity and brotherhood and standing together talk is B. S.

OK Einstein, Your dues go up to match Teamsters, your wages go down to match T requests. Your $300 check increases to $500. Can't you guys come up with a better analogy? Jeez. No wonder T is in shambles.
