This long wait for LR made me rethink my future at Cisco, and I decided to try and move on, laid off or not coming mid-Sept. I’m not necessarily looking for greener pastures, but I’m definitely looking for something different. I understand that many people depend on their jobs here, and not all of us are looking forward to the possibility of being let go. Whatever happens, I wish us all good luck whatever each one of us decides or it’s decided for us.

Yeah, Cisco red badges are in high demand! I wish I were one.
Joined a little over a year ago and I’ve seen 3 LRs now. Time to take what I’ve learned and try to use it somewhere else…
What did you learn at Cisco withing a little over a year that you can use somewhere else?
I was laid off about 2 months ago as a contractor. I was hired 9 days later before Intel, Dell and whoever else was doing layoffs. Yeah I was mad, but at the same time lucky as my old coworkers (friends) are just waiting to find out what will happen on their end. Oh. I got like a HUGE PAY RAISE. Good luck to everyone!
Go to a company with a tech CEO that you can trust
Yep. Joined a little over a year ago and I’ve seen 3 LRs now. Time to take what I’ve learned and try to use it somewhere else…
This is exactly the outcome that ELT expected. I’m sure they want atleast another 1000-2000 people to leave globally in the next 3-6 months. I’ve had it with Cisco as well - this wait has been he-l.
Exactly my sentiment. I am relatively new but I have already started applying elsewhere when something comes up that I like the look of.
It certainly has pushed me more towards smaller companies, more local run.
Good luck everyone, I hope it works out for you either way.
If you've not already started, you're behind...
No brainer that anyone under 60 years old should leave Cisco ASAP and go somewhere with equity upside
If you are working on latest and interesting project and good manager and team members …. Stick with Cisco.
Totally … this and a lot of other change makes me want to just go to a new organization and start fresh
