Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Negotiations collapsing

It's like choosing to represent yourself in court. Going against sound advice from trained experienced professionals. The CWA be like, "Naw, homeschooled gots this...". I know the company bargaining team is laughing. It has become cringworthy.

CP here, I’m crossing the picket line to have some of those ribeyes, get a break from the heat and the freaking long hours. Working for Stankey is ki-ling us.

“ Do you guys ever work?”

I dare you to ask your CP peers who have been working 12/6 for 2 and half weeks now. They might tell you to GFY. A 2nd level along with a couple of 1st lvls, recently had to place a large copper cable, their perspective has changed dramatically. Told he won’t ever…… to us anymore. Won’t say what was actually said but, he appreciates and respects what we do now more than ever. It’s hot, skilled and dangerous work, ask the manager in Mississippi who had a near fatal miss with broke pole and power or the Safety manger who face planted a bucket truck into a low clearance bridge, etc…

Techs and contractors have died over the last few years so don’t trivialize the job, it can happen in an instant and to anybody.

Sounds like the Deathstar has some serious issues.
Too bad, so sad.

CP workers 12/6 wouldn’t gaslight for their own self-interest at all, would they? 🤔

As everyone knows If any member has any questions or ideas they can raise them to their Local officers, job steward or at the monthly meeting etc.. company trolls on here keep trying to stir discord, not working. What’s for Lunch? That ribeye menu is awesome! 👏
Stay strong and in unity!

"they've become their own worst enemy in the bargaining process"

Well on the way to becoming our worst enemy. They need to share ALL developments during the bargaining day. Not on a public page, just at the Locals. Saying the company is stalling is getting old.

‘Man does that bring back memories of the good old days at Bellsouth before the DeathStar took over. Used to grill out regularly at the work centers or parks for safety lunch and other occasions. Look where we are now, Dorthy we aren’t in Kansas anymore.”

I said I would Stand on the Line, but I do expect more than what I've seen during the past 2 weeks.

Why don't we bring in a good team that will get us everything we are asking for?

I don't understand the rationale. Is the CWA bargaining team just being stubborn for some reason? The company has stated there is no path forward without concessions. Why not bring in a team of seasoned professional negotiators to see how much of the original demands of the CWA can be salvaged? A third party can explore the what-ifs without being seen as weak or willing to make a concession up front. Negotiation is nuances of give and take. The CWA has completely lost that option by digging their heels in. In doing so they've become their own worst enemy in the bargaining process.

Good idea, my buddy Jim owns a butcher shop also supplies a lot of restaurants in the area. Ribeye is my favorite but not enough time to get them now. Thursday will be fine though, just got off the phone and he is going to thick cut them for us tomorrow.

Thursdays lunch menu:

Traegar Pellet smoked then seared ribeyes pulled off at 136* then add pad of butter and put to rest under foil for 5-10 min. Mmm good!

Someone else is bringing a grill for the sides;
Sides: baked potatoes, other vegetables and yeast rolls
Dessert: undecided, will ask for volunteers at the picket line
Refreshments: Milo’s tea, water, coke or gaterade
