Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Embarrassed

I came over from BofA last year and sometimes I really regret my decision despite the much better compensation. I know I’ve only been here a year but it’s exhausting and embarrassing to constantly see us in the news for something negative. I know PR and comms does their best to drown out the negativity with positive news, but I feel like it’s like throwing a water bucket on a dumpster fire. Is anyone else tried of the constant hazing by friends, family and prospects when you mention you work for WF? Or, is it just me? Again, I can’t even imagine what it feels like for someone who’s been here since the sales scandal. It sounds stupid but I feel like it’s had a negative impact on my mental health. BofA wasn’t perfect but I’ve never felt so ashamed like I do today, especially after hearing about Denise. It makes me sick.

I worked at BofA before coming to WF and that org isn’t any better. I wasn’t treated the best and made less money than WF. Yes, we are fouled up here, but we got fined at BofA and had our fair share of regulatory issues. Started out at Allegacy FCU here in NC and that place was better. But much lower salary obviously.

Let’s be fair BoA (and most other F500 companies) are just minor variations of each other and do the exact same nonsense

All the people that joined WF from other banks (Chase, BofA primarily) took the big sack of $$$ in front of them and then don’t deliver much. Not impressed with the talent that has joined. Some are good…many are dead weight and don’t want to do any heavy lifting.

If you still feel shame, there is hope for you. Get out now before you become one of the masses that justify working for these sc-mbags in increasingly creative ways

BofA to Wells makes me think you’re in Charlotte? I don’t experience that, in all likelihood because there are so many WFC employees here that most people see it as pointless because they’d be ridiculing like a fifth of the people they know. Do you live elsewhere? Or do these friends and family live elsewhere?

As much flack as BOA gets, this post is a genuine example of how the grass ain't always greener.

Japan - About 40 percent, or 14,775 people who died alone at home were found within one day of death. But 3,936 were not discovered until more than 30 days after their deaths, including 130 who were found after at least a year had passed. No Shade - RIP.

@hjd+1ulfJSpn The Poster who mentioned Gujrat. Maybe you should ask someone where Gujrat is. Because none of our captives are anywhere near that state . Time for your job to be shipped over .

I don't tell people I work at Wells. Lol. Wells has become my side hustle, not my main job.

@lua+1ulfJSpn — Agree. The very least security could do (ours is abysmally lazy and unbothered to help) if the janitors don't bother and coworkers don't bother. A freaking sweep at EOD for any badges at the site that have been there more than 11hrs.

Clearly it proved janitors don't even sweep or vacuum the floors, otherwise they might have found her sooner.

OP is everything wrong with people today. This is a job, not a family. Stop expecting anything from them except a paycheck. And eat gummies all day, it helps tremendously

This also happened to a coworker in San Francisco a few months back. Funny it did not make the news. He passed away on a Friday but wasn’t found until Monday morning

Dying could happen to anyone...not being noticed for several days is the issue.

That's on you if you don't know how to explain things. The person dying was spun out of control. That could happen to anyone, anywhere regardless of company.

Same! I try not to tell people I work at Wells.

It's shameful that Denise sat at her desk for FOUR days...no DM? No email? No janitor? No security sweep at EOD? And yet WF makes it seem if we don't RTO we'll die from the desire to collaborate.

We'll, someone did die — and no one "collaborated" to get her help. She died alone and forgotten. That's Wells Fargo for you.

Let’s face it, we are all overworked because they

  1. Offshore jobs so now we have to babysit and hold hands
  2. Remove jobs and lay off so ones left are doing 3 roles to keep all the ba--s in the air

At Wells Fargo, they do not care for you. Dismiss the "Wells Life" campaign that has been composed by some outside OD/PR firm.
They do pay well to su-k you into this dystopia. For those who have been here, I find that the raises and bonuses have been diminishing while the workload, thanks to the failing Indian offshoring, is increasing.
The Wells Fargo soul is being lost. The account scandal showed the world that WF doesn't care about the customer, the exec urination showed the world the execs don't care about their fellow airplane passengers and the DP incident they don't care about their employees.

Completely agree. I work on the marketing / social media side and the number of X posts we see daily now about the incident has significantly increased. The lack of real acknowledgement from the company has been absolutely horrible. And many people through various social media platforms have been rightfully calling out the company and sending us messages.

Now they'll be checking when we badge out. Just watch.

You’re overthinking it. Most people don’t think anything about Wells Fargo any more than they do Ocean Spray cranberry juice.

It could’ve been you just saying.

It’s really disgusting that we don’t have security procedures in place. I’m in data, and all you have to do is tell security to watch badges that don’t leave after 11 hours.

It's that simple!

For the most part no one cares that I work at Wells, EXCEPT for the news about Denise. People are horrified and they keep asking what the company has said about it. When I say they told us nothing they can’t believe it. This one hurts.

I had neighbors dozing off. I don't disturb them when i leave in the evening. It is true . There were no incident . After COVID, aged men and women are not healthy as we think. They are probably safe to stay home and work from there.

Right there with you. I had so many people forward the story and TikTok’s about Denise this weekend. My friends and fam gave me a ton a sh*t about it. It was funny at first then got annoying pretty quick. I’m just here for the paycheck and constantly applying for jobs on LinkedIn. I suggest you just su-k it up and do the same. The company could care less about your mental health and whining. You chose this.
