Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

expendable cp's

CPs, if you are in SE due to the strike, does that mean your job at home is expendable? Consider this: You may have risked losing your job at home because business operations continued while you were away and your absence went unnoticed.

Just STFU. Truth is 90% of managers have probably never done sh-t to you, and they just want to do their jobs. But now some of them are repairing fiber that's mysteriously been cut multiple times in the last couple weeks, and their actual work isn't getting done either. So please make the distinction between 'upper management,' and the average joe who isn't much different from you and likely not making much more.

Everyone has always been expendable. We've gone through many years of this over the course of much time. Just because you are CP does no mean that you are on the chopping block. That's just silly. Most managers have been on CP numerous times. In many cases, other workers pick up the load. If not, then their work basically has been put on hold until they get back. It's always the way it's been.

“ Don’t worry. You will lose your job anyway, don’t blame CP but Stankey.”

Tis’ only a matter of time.

OP, unfortunately it does. You will lose your job, your house, your car and your family. The kids will still love you but the wife will never forgive you. Don't worry, when one gate closes another will open.

I have noticed that the company boys are getting a little more sensitive as time goes on. I'm sure some of those on the line would feed them a nice meal if they are hangry.

How about you worry about the sad excuse for union reps/leadership not being able to negotiate or get results for long periods of time while spending your dues on ho----s and blow.

It would be stupid to assume the company will not use data from the work stoppage to glean information on what is working and what is not. Even the big shots know that inexperienced employees aren’t going to be able to effectively do the work. Imo it will probably be system oriented. What automation actually works and what doesn’t and what is actually needed.

OP- If that was the case people would never be able to go on vacation time.

T is going to layoff regardless, CP or no CP.
We are all expendable, give us a break!
Unless you are the C-Suite!

What does 'CP' mean in T Fantasy land?

Nope. It means CP gets to cover their work after the CP shift end and their peers without assignment are also pulling double duty.

Based on what I have seen, the company does not care whether the job needs to be done or not. I know of specific cases where the person being forced to FTW is the only person in the company doing the job, and the company needs the data. The company said, "oh well". The individual BU ended up finding the employee placement in other organizations to keep them on board.
