Contingency Assignments

Large number of folks just got their deployment notice. The company is settling in for a long protracted negotiation. Good luck to all!

I had to get some Internet Technical Support last night. My Internet was down on my WiFi. It was fixed by someone outside of America. So no striker required.

Thanks CWA, your jobs are a lot less stressful than my normal job.

You CWA guys realize a lot of us CP managers were techs before right?

All CPs are second levels or higher.

You know, the guys who overachieved and like to work. Good luck with CWA leadership negotiating with experts. You’re being taken for a ride.

I’m a CP manager and I supported the CWA in the beginning because the company has sc--wed us all.

Now that I’ve seen the offer, I can no longer support their efforts. It’s a very fair contract. The union members are being played by the CWA.

I’ve done your job for two weeks. Longer hours than you, with more days than you do and I actually find the work enjoyable.

We are exceeding all expectations and close about 10 tickets a day. Zero service affecting tickets in our worklist. We’re now working tickets from beyond two weeks ago that the pro’s didn’t get to. Even doing provisioning orders.

We are meeting the mean time to repair despite the union members attempts to sabotage the network. You would not believe the things I have seen. Numerous cases of intentional sabotage to the network.

If you all don’t get your heads on straight you won’t have a job to return to, and I certainly hope those who are going around taking customers out of service are prosecuted to the furthest extent of the law.

Don’t let the threat of Contingency Workers scare you. 2 in 15 may have past work experience but the majority are walking oxygen bandits. Inside work are blank stare at the screen. Lucky to successfully log in. Outside work will be 5 in 20 have past work experience. They will be chasing tail and only work the fires. Most not successful. No Managers want to travel to another State in support. Same pay as always. No benefit. So don’t think ATT will be successful in slowing the failures.

“There is no need to comment on this anonymous website. Let the CP force enjoy the entire experience. Some will get hurt, some will die. Stankey does not care.
Let the chips fall were they may. You are a Tool for AT&T.
Your wife is lonely.”

A good number of us came from many years in craft. We don’t hate the union, or see you as “slugs”. Many of us still pursue electronics, woodworking, mechanical restoration, or other skills as hobbies. We respect skilled crafts.

That said, getting out and using tools is actually a fun change of pace. While we respect your daily work, we’re here to do it, and even enjoy it,

Those of us from this background hope it works out as best it can for you. We get it. In the meantime, we’ll be safe, and hopefully retaining customers, so you have a customer base to come back to. Many of us fight a common enemy, but we all need a reason to be employed here.

Be well!

The cool thing is we get our normal pay check while doing this easy work!

The other "cool" thing is your "leadership" team is finding out how to operate without you.

I have never in my 30 years with this company seen a manager go down in scope of responsibilities.

If you are on CP duty, consider yourself non essential.

CP Manager here. QQ. I don’t want to list the tools I’m stealing from this bucket truck on eBay, but do you know if Asset Protection monitors FB Marketplace too? Looks like these drills, torches and bit sets will fetch a pretty penny. Do I need all these cones? I was thinking of selling them to a nearby construction firm.

So this is like your regular day to day at T just with per diem?

Yes, the company has let me attend the picket line every day. They gripe and groan and write negative things on the internet but I just give them the old fickle finger of fate and all is good. I did have to take off from the line to attend a planed trip to Scotland but had no problems upon my return. All my CWA buddies enjoyed the pictures. Any more questions feel free to ask.

Definitely a Manager of Union Techs Here,

Kinda hurt my feelings about the Peach Tart. You have no idea what it takes to create each tart. I am proud of my tarts but I got over it since you had your CWA superman shirt on. Now, my tarts are enjoyed by all genders, races, colors and ethnicity because basically they are enjoyed worldwide by all. Having graduated from DEI training as a manager you are a little lacking in your acceptance of weirdos, try harder. Come back on Monday and try the Granny Apple tarts. I usually wouldn't have time but since my TV provider doesn't provide ESPN it looks as if I won't be watching my TV on College Game Day. I will be tarting all day Saturday, I'll probably be so mad I'll tart all day Sunday too. I am waiting on my new provider before I tell att to stick it. They offer 2000 channels for $39 mo. The service is pretty impressive. When I get connected I will tell att RB's(short for rat ba----ds) adios. See ya at the line Monday.

“ Hey definitely a manager of union techs here. You guys are doing gods work out there, definitely on your side here as are all the other managers!”
This has to be sarcasm. This manager and most others do not support this strike force. Most of us don’t have any issuing with bargaining for the best agreement, but very few support the walkout. Hopefully an agreement is reached sooner than later for all parties. The more the company invests in the walkout, the less that they will concede. It is easy math for them.

Stopped by the picket line today and had brisket, baked potatoes, Mac and cheese, and had to turn down some weirdo trying to get me to eat a “peach tart” whatever that is. Anyway thanks for supporting me when I walked up with my cwa shirt under my management vest, you know how big brother is.

I really miss my hardworking union boys - you guys got so much done and there is no way any contractor could do the work you do. As a for sure manager of actual union employees I can say yall have it made! Turn down that offer stick it to the company. Tell your family you’re doing it to stick it to the company always pays you on time. Ignore their questions about why the union isn’t paying you on strike - if they saw that lunch menu that I did they’d shut up!!!!

My first day was one Tuesday near Charlotte. We stood around and BS'd the first half of the day. Took a 1.5 hour lunch. Then inventoried tools for the last few hours. The last couple days I've just tagged along with a local manager to a few jobs. Have to say I have no idea what I am doing, but I do like the per diem and food scene.

I was sent to Georgia to support field work. Don't worry about us, we can barely do a repair per day. The company cannot go on like this for another few weeks. The backlog of work that this creating will cost the company more than the concessions that my techs are asking for.

Stay strong and focused strikers. You are making an impact
