Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Tonight's call

Any chance the strike gets called off while bargaining continues?

Lesson learned. Never work at a union company again. In five years, everybody is going to bail right before the next contract expires.

It is nice to see the union show their proposal for healthcare. It is laughable with the rising costs of healthcare that the unions proposal would be a reduction of 25-30% over today’s benefit costs to the members. Does anyone believe that you are going to get a reduced rate for he next five years when everything else is going up. The other side of your forked tongue claims you need record level wage increases and cost of living increases due to HIGHER inflation. Does that not apply to healthcare. Rhetorical.

Obviously,qkr+

Get something to eat, clean up or not and get some rest. You have a full day tomorrow doing nothing unless you are a scabbie. Scabbies are the only ones partly productive.

Lots of documents to sign before that happens. Would you trust the guy that is aiming to take what you value? It could happen but then it would be a tentative agreement (TA).

Obviously. It’s getting to the point where the cwa will be asked to pay out strike funds. Can’t have that now!!!

I certainly hope so for everyone’s sake. Unions have a right to strike and I respect that. But we can all use a break!

Not likely! Seems like the CWA reps struggle with the simple principle that the more the company spends on the walkout, the less they have to invest in the new agreement.
