Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Love the CWA's price comparison

Posted the whole comparison of what the company offered versus what they want. Then gave the cost differences. Of course that makes it look like there's a huge difference. How about comparing it to REAL numbers, like maybe this year's actual numbers which would show a real change in costs? Otherwise it shows a widening gap, with the CWA asking for diminishing premiums over 5 years. Talk about delusional!

The T offer for Option 1 has premiums increasing only $37/mo over 5 years for individuals, and only $114/mo for families. It's really not that much, which you look at how fast healthcare costs are rising. And CWA thinks there's going to be a decline in costs so much so that an individual should be paying $28/mo less and families should be paying $75/mo less than today?

Work an hour or two of OT a month and you've got it covered. Option 2 (GASP!) shows T offering DECLINING premiums for individuals and families over the course of the contract.

Even the sensationalism of all that red font can't hide that the CWA wishlist is absurd.

“ The company is saving 2% in wages every week the strike continues. They’ll stall until the offer equals the savings.”

Above was written by someone like me.
Congrats for cracking the code of what T is all about. This is exactly what they do.
Always wanting people to watch the right hand while the left hand probes you further like an alien abduction in Roswell.

And don’t think for one minute that T will be eating the cost of CP deployments.
The union employees will end up paying the price big time. I hate that they are being played by both sides.

You did not just seriously compare working for AT&T to being a slave.
cuz only slaves ever cleared fields? try to understand that there's more to human history than yours

You know damn good and well what was implied and intended by that original response. Especially with the undertone since this is whole thing is about the Southeast, but that may have been an unintended 'bonus' slight. Try to understand that your assumption about my 'history' is not only incorrect but reveals why assumption starts with an a-s.

You had good jobs.
That's what they said when they worked the fields clearing those weeds by hand.

AT&T has over 100 Million customers, each paying $25 to $100 per per connection (and some people have fiber, mobile and features). That works out to more than $5 Billion per month or more than $60 Billion per year. Most of that money goes to the people making PowerPoints and excel spreadsheets to show how to give less services to customers, less pay and benefits to employees and less quality networks and less quality of life. Except for Stankey. He gets more when you get less. He calls it “market pricing” but taking a massive salary for running a public utility. A girls scout troop could run the company better.

Meanwhile 11 million Uverse customers like me are dumping T.

Dude, go touch grass or something. You will survive a week or two without your precious ESPN. If AT&T agrees to all Disney's demands, who do you think will pay for it? You will. And you will be back b**ching about your rate increase.

Some people blame a political party for every issue they hear. No facts, just blame. Support employees and save your 401k, jobs, & stock. Don't be weird or bizarre. Choose a working policy, not a claim. Support union, don't be jealous of others.

Not sure why you had to bring politics into this, but since you did, yeah it's ironic, the Union that supports the political party that causes all these skyrocketing costs, cries that their employer won't pay them more to offset the rising costs they endorsed. Hypocrites.

That offer, as bad as it may look, is still a lot better than what the managers of any level have when it comes to raises and insurance.

Yeah, the union guys don't give a ****. They don't even care that many from the management level will likely be laid off to cover some of their demands. This is what the union is all about, get the best for ourselves at the expense of others.

You know why the unions demands are unrealistic?

Look who they choose to support politically.

Tells you everything you need to know. They are as unrealistic as the party they support.

District 3 union members are being played. You HAD good jobs. You gave up your cushy jobs and lives for the CWA who can’t even be honest about the companies offer.
