Severance Package to Change 2025

Get your 6-mo severance package while you can. From good source, changing to 1-mo by end of 1st qtr ‘25. Not sure if this is another “force people to leave now” rumor we-pon but didn’t sound that way.

I live in NJ, so I don’t have to worry. I will receive greater than 6 mo if and when they lay me off.

the good news is upon notification of layoff, it only takes 1 month to get up to speed with burger flipping or Wal-Mart greeting.

I am not to proud to do what it takes to keep my family taken care of with the lights on and a roof over our heads. Wouldn't sit on my butt for months whether I get severance of 0, 6 months, 40 weeks, or nearly 2 years; would be back doing something ASAP.

@ynf+1unAxoA2 And maybe babysit some buggy scripts? Why do I think you could have been in my group? But FYI, it's taken us months to fix your sh-t.

Heard the same last year and the year prior on this site. Try to come up with something new.

I held on for my severance and it was worth the wait. I basically had no work to do for the last 3 years. My only job was to refresh a report and update a PowerPoint. And to substantiate the existence of an AVP. Now, severance received, bought some toys and the rest in savings. Worth the wait, but glad to have real work again.

“Nope, same troll that posts this every few weeks”

May I ask, are you in position to know?

They're trying to cut our severance pay to 120 weeks in California.

It would encourage folks to pull the retirement lever. So many waiting on a severance or package. Not sure it’s worth waiting if it’s just 1 month.

I was allowed to raise my hand in 2017 when there was a voluntary RIF.

Don't look at it as bad.
Look at it as different.
Please adapt and adopt the necessary corporate mentality, we have gone to extraordinary lengths to provide provisions for the purpose of provincial provocation of proper prerequisites .

Except you can’t “raise your hand.”

I can see people raising their hand for the next round if they thought the severance rules might change. Better to take the longer package if you can if you think you can get another job in a month or two.

How would this encourage people to leave?

Severance is only paid if you get laid off. There is no severance payment if you quit or retire.

You're clueless.
