Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

ATT data beach is a pain!!!!!!

I singed up for the credit monitoring and three weeks ago received notification that my SSN was found on the dark-web. Just wonderful! Placed fraud alert.

Now someone in Taiwan just tried to use my credit card. Just wonderful! Now I wonder how often I'm going to cancel credit cards going forward. But hey, at least my bank interceded and stopped the transaction.

Just me or anybody else having this issue?

Someone rented apartments in my name and got evicted. I got it removed from one credit agency so far.

My elderly mother keeps getting this notice she owes Att $129 when her bill balance shows $00. It's always the same message $129. Only started after the Att breach that Att claims wasn't related to a larger breach. Big brother always claimed it wasn't his fault it was little brother's fault. My elderly mother always laughed at that.
When all the spins stop it was still Att customer info collected by Att released to dark forces. That info originated within Att records. It doesn't matter who released it. Put another way for the deniers, If the gate is opened the cows in your pasture will get out regardless who left the gate open and whose pasture they wander to. KISS -Keep it simple stu--d

OK, so att is so great that they would never sell my web history, or anything else for that matter. I've got to get me a VPN to protect me from a company I pay for internet access. That is JUST WONDERFUL!

The ISP's are all the same. Competitive pricing must be counter-set some how.

Now I must find a VPN that does not do the same. Just wonderful.....

Wait, I'll watch some college football this week-end. Oh wait, I paid for access to that and THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN!

So you suggest I blame National Data for the breach. I guess then it's fair to blame T for giving their info over just to make sure our personal info was correct. Gotcha.

Do your research. National Public Data was scraping for data from companies like background checks. AT&T was not related to that breach at all, and its waaay bigger than the one by AT&T's third party vendor, cloud service provider Snowflake.. Geeze. This is like talking to my elderly mother...

Been debt free for more than 15 years. Froze my credit when I no longer needed to borrow. Never had a problem until now. Just wonderful! Now I cancel credit cards and place fraud alerts. Just wonderful!

You can thank National Public Data and Equifax for your personal information winding up on the internet. Today everyone can consider there personal information is available on the dark web. The federal government should fine every company that has a data breach. This money should then be utilized to pay for credit monitoring for every U.S. citizen for life.

Freeze your credit. It’s free, doesn’t affect any open credit, and is easy to thaw if you apply for new credit.

Always deny deny deny. Spin it T boys, I have had a LARGE increase of spam email and phone calls since the breach. And the homeless guy that hangs out at Walmart begging with nothing in his name is hilarious. I'll flip you a quarter big guy.

Mr. Wizard is correct, you are naive to think that AT&T would knowingly play part in any transgression. We are doing our best to make sure fewer employees are affected by any internet abnormalities, by reducing the service to a ever growing number of customers.

You need to lock your credit reports with all three credit agencies if you haven't already. That's the most important thing you can do.

If you think your information is only on the dark web bc of AT&T you are naïve at best.

If it's just from 3 weeks ago, t was probably part of the National Public Data breach. I have had no fewer than a half dozen notifications of breaches, my credit card was compromised more than once via walmart.com, etc. And oh, guess what--my data was not compromised via AT&T because the bill/account has never been in my name.

Oh yeah, I always wanted to be on the dark web and the T granted that wish. A good friend had someone steal $10k from his account. I blame the bank but regardless they made it good and he, like you had to spend aggravating hours with changing direct deposit, bill payments, etc. Be aware hackers obtained your cell records also. Now they have your name, address and call logs. Why do I despise T so much?
