If you haven’t signed a union card and pay dues you’re good. Next year, sometime in August or September, send a certified letter to CWA stating you no longer want to be in the union. There is only a 10 day window to do it and very strict guidelines. I went back after 9 days. I could care less how my Co-workers feel about me. Jobs are jobs. Co-workers are just that too. Here today, gone tomorrow. That brother stuff is just BS to get the su-kers to do their bidding for them.

If you're a current CWA member they'll garnish your wages so it's not worth it.

Tell you what: Go ahead and post that on the CWA Facebook page with your name. If you’re uncomfortable doing that, then maybe consider whether you are willing to face the consequences of being a scab IRL.

If you decide to cross the line, just be sure to send in a letter to your local resigning your membership. They aren't legally allowed to reject/deny it, and then you also can't be sued for your wages. Just don't think they're ever going to let you rejoin.

“ Why don’t you ask the CWA leadership if they are still collecting a paycheck. ”

The district 3 bargaining team that aren’t national are getting the same strike pay as everyone else. That question was answered in our monthly local meeting and on the townhall call.

Don’t blame you at all. Do what’s best for you and your family. At this point, the contract is all but signed. You missing more paychecks will not do a thing.

If you are a union member and cross no matter what state, yes they can and will sue. You thinking collective bargaining and striking is free? Those who are working and enjoying the benefits off of others sacrifices are nothing but parasitic scabs.

It’s fine if you are inclined to not join the union just don’t take the benefits or wage increases that are collectively bargained, make your own agreement. Comcast or Spectrum sounds like a better fit for you but you won’t because their pay, benefits and work rules are much worse, just a bunch of parasites who enjoy the benefits of those who do pay.

Several of us CP “volunteers” are heading back to our home states too, we are ground down. This is a difficult job, we are over it.

Terminate.

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you're looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you

Been there done that in the 1983 strike. I didn’t cross, several of us only had less than a year seniority too, we did what we had to do to hold the line. No door dash, Uber or internet to job search then but we still found work. All these years later still proud of that!

A few crossed and they paid for it, the one’s I knew are no longer with the company. Not worth it! Hang in their youngsters, it will pay off, just looking for a fair contract with good benefits. All it takes is for the company to start bargaining in good faith. In Unity!

So managers are filling in for techs and office positions, hmm 🤔 Now we know which jobs are the priority. More layoffs to come, that volunteer OT isn’t worth it because it exposes how much you aren’t needed. Your peer that is covering for you is trialing to increase their scope of work.

So might want to research “Right to work state” then let me know if you really think the union would win if they tried to sue you for your earned wages . Why don’t you ask the CWA leadership if they are still collecting a paycheck. Brother if you need to work you work . These people are a--hole in a group but you can call skull drag them when you see them in Walmart. Then ask how’s their insurance is.

“True or untrue the union can sue/fine union members that cross lines during a legal strike?”

Very true so, working for free and labeled scab for rest of their careers which means no help. I’m not currently in the union but I still know better than to cross the line. Probably join the union now that I’ve seen how the company values us employees. Too many regressive proposals from what I’ve read on the bargaining reports. At least the union is trying to make improvements for all workers. Will be signing a blue card soon.

There is a lot of trolling/gaslighting happening. If true, I didn’t know Cajuns were so weak, isn’t that supposedly Tiger country? Do want you want but the senior techs (paw paw) are holding out mainly so we (Wire Techs) can get job and wage improvements. In Alabama we are staying strong, door dashing, working side jobs and strike checks. All of us Wire techs and Utility in my area are not crossing, we received 5 checks in August, about to get our second strike check so haven’t missed much, you didn’t prepare very well. Sorry to see that you all feel the need to Scab, now I know why Roll Tide has whooped the kittens butt so many times, weak. Stay strong and in unity!

Cross my brother, once enough people surrender, I'm absolutely positive they will keep your wages and HC costs where the are at currently till it's inconvenient for you. You were brought in to lower wages, but they wouldn't think of doing that to you, not with that kind of loyalty and commitment.
