Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

CMO org…ughhh

Anyone else feeling that way lately about the CMO org? Seems like all the good people have either left, are leaving, or are planning to leave soon. Poor communication, lacking visibility with Leslie, and backstabbing rewarded with promotion and nepotism.

Wanna-be’s and has beens. That’s what Verizon attracts because it’s no longer a leader in the telecom industry. The only direction is ‘down’. While this reflects on senior management, it’s also a problem with HR.

Leslie is in under her head. Not enough experience to run such a large organization and brand. She was fired from Twitter, and saw Peleton drop into a dumpster. I hope Verizon hired her at a sever discount compared to Diego.

Her new brand direction is painful to the eye, and there is no enticing message to the consumer to buy Verizon. The new logo is hardly a noticeable change, which begged the question, “why bother?” The yellow and red combination just looks terrible, cheap, and gimmicky.

Verizon continues to lose accounts, only gaining lines from existing customers, most through Second Number and duel SIM. The brand is not resonating and T-Mobile is eating our lunch (shown by their 2nd quarter results)
