I’ve spent ten years in WF. I don’t exactly regret it. It was a period in my life when I needed a steady job and not be bothered with anything work-related. I didn’t even care about having a progressing career, and yet, over those ten years I was promoted twice without gunning for it. So not that bad overall. Now I have a feeling that I’ve been here for too long. I want something else in life and work, and now I’m afraid that staying here made me stale. I’ve been applying for other jobs, and a ten-year career in WF doesn’t appear particularly interesting to anyone. I don’t have to leave WF right now, unless I’m laid off, but I badly need a change. What have your experiences been with looking for another job after years in one place and being specialized in one particular job?

I'm close enough to retirement that I'll just wait for severance. FHY.
I started planning my exit after the January 2022 town hall with our fabulous CEO. I've been going to school and will be leaving the banking industry for good in 2025. I've been with Wells for over a decade and consider my current time with Wells as my severance period. There is always an option, you just have to be willing to get out of your comfort zone and start the process. I feel very empowered by my actions versus sitting and being stressed out by a company who is okay with me dying at my desk. When I leave, there will be an email to my manager at the end of my shift, no notice, I'm done. F this place.
Same here. Going for banks who are serious about doing business. Have got some responses which is promising. Hoping market opens up and goes back to normal in a couple of months. Can’t wait to get out of this dumpster.
I am leaving as well, gave my notice a few weeks ago and am in my notice period (ED in CIB). Leaving fin services altogether for a job with Collins Aerospace.
I'm changing careers all together. I'm going for a Nursing degree. I'm done with banking and finance.
OP what’s your skill set/ role ?
I remember feeling that way at year 10, but here I am at year 20. Don’t be like me.
Very tough to find another comparable position.
Much easier to invest in the market leaders than go work for them especially given that you are 10 years older.
