Hoping folks understand that most managers assigned to CP are individual contributors who in all likelihood earn far less than field personnel when you count overtime, less expensive benefits and pension. If CP folks had a choice they wouldn’t go cover any strike since there is no financial incentive to go work 6x12 hr days other than being fired for not showing up.

Oh sweet summer child..

Would love some downtime during the summer. Some us are forced OT until the load clears, every day. So let’s get walking, no use wasting all that good CP training.

D9 full day ULP strikes?

One for 4 hours
One for 2 hours

You are clearly clueless.

Maybe that is the number of hours you work per day

D3 actually walks

D9 just talks
When was last time D9 did more than a couple hours

We've had several full day ULP strikes.

It's only a matter of time before the company sc--ws up and causes a ULP strike on the west.

Sounds like you just want to put your hands in the company pockets for greed not for financial security.

Nah. I just want protected time off and let CP managers do our work for a while. I'm sure there'll be plenty of OT to pad my $1.5 million 401k when I get back.

Stay safe out there and thanks for the time off!

“Hey @1rps+1urRFwmC, then why the strike if you make too much money. Sounds like you just want to put your hands in the company pockets for greed not for financial security.”

Stankey got $30m last year.
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be well compensated for your work.
That’s capitalism, as we see, the company can choose not to pay it and face the consequences and the workers can choose to not work…that’s freedom.

“ we don’t get bonus amounts like managers”
I’d rather get overtime. Most people work 50+ every week. I would make way more money. Yes the bonus is nice that one time per year we get it, but it’s not as huge as you think. We get up to 11%. After taxes it’s like 1/2 that. So 100k per year, you bring home $5500. I bet you make more than that with overtime. Not to mention our healthcare costs way more than that and covers nothing. I would trade with you all day.

“ good luck paying your creditors.”

You are correct, Stankey hasn’t given us inflation adjusted wage increases for years and we don’t get bonus amounts like managers, usually less than $300. It will be hard to make it being on strike, I already work door dash in the evening a few nights a week to pay my bills and I live frugal. If we get inflationary wage and work rule improvements it will be worth it. Some said Stankey got a 3 million dollar raise, is that true?

Starting to look like there are many who simply do not want to work.

I just don't want to breath in the smoke so the company causing a ULP strike is right on time.

Maybe the company should stop fu--ing around and maybe they wouldn’t have to keep finding out?

the reps finally took a substandard TA to the membership to approve.

Reps obviously thought it was good enough=good faith bargaining
Presenting a TA to the membership is tacit confirmation that good faith bargaining was taking place.

The company had 5 months past expiration using delay and other ULP tactics, the reps finally took a substandard TA to the membership to approve. Obviously it was a resounding NO! We are tired of the company bad faith bargain way past the contract expirations. They had there shot 2 months prior to the deadline. Now it’s time to ULP strike and make their bad faith bargaining and other ULP actions punitive. Get in there and bargain in good faith and reward hard working employees a fair contract.

But the ball has been in their court since the TA was announced 8/2. Nothing happens until after that TA is either ratified or rejected. The CWA extended that a week, since the original vote and ratification was going to be done by 8/31. Both parties agreed to extend, and so the vote was not final until 9/6.

NOTHING would be done until that vote was complete. There has been no action need by the company from the time of the TA until it was announced Friday. So yes, it has been solely in the CWA's hands for a month. You can't complain that the company's not playing ball and walk out on a ULP unless the company refuses to come back to the table.

So wait--ball's been in D9's court for a month. Seems like the next move is for a proposal from D9 to the table, or some kind of update regarding negotiations. You can't just sit on the ball for a month and then complain the other party isn't playing.

It may delay some CP layoffs. Get some sleep because 12/6 gets old quick.

This was on FB:

CWA District 9

Dear CWA Members, Retirees, and Supporters:
CWA members in District 3 have been on strike against AT&T Southeast for almost four weeks due to the company’s failure to engage in good faith bargaining.
Last week, CWA members in District 9 at AT&T West voted against a proposed tentative agreement and their bargaining committee will return to the table.
This Thursday CWA members across the country will wear red and hold up signs at work, standing if they are able, to show their solidarity with our 25,000+ members at AT&T who are fighting for fair contracts. These demonstrations will take place at 10 am, 2 pm and 4 pm in your local time zone.
Please plan to join this action and post photos on social media with the hashtags #ATTStrike and #CWAStrong so that we can re-share them. Even if you are not able to participate at work, you can take a photo with a sign to share.
You can download a sign to print at cwa.org/attsign.
Thank you for your support.
In Unity,
Claude Cummings Jr., CWA President
Richard Honeycutt, CWA District 3 Vice President
Frank Arce, CWA District 9 Vice President
