Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

They're all the same

I worked at Verizon before I joined AT&T. I changed jobs specifically to avoid the toxicity of my old team and having to play politics every single day if I didn't want to be fired (not laid off, fired). I've been here for two years, and I'm dealing with pretty much the exact same issues I did there. There's no better alternative.

It would not su-k to deal with the same issues for $10 more an hour in a plant where 85% of installs already have a drop and ont mounted.

Damn look at these down votes on T negative comments.

They must have scrambled the paid actors again after this latest news about the unions.

Keep reporting how many and much all these employees think John is a bozo HR shills.

As a former Verizon employee, I can attest that their environment is only slightly better than AT&T. The CEO doesn't wear pajamas, but he jets all over for events just like yours and has been on a mission to outsource and offshore every job he can. The H1Bs have taken over what onshore IT jobs are left. The rest are outsourced to Indian managed services companies who can't do the work. That's why they brought him in after he was fired from Ericsson. He was up on fraud charges there, but was also very successful with his downsizing efforts. They have just as many toxic executives. The stock is finally inching up a bit after a 2 year drain. What they don't have is forced relocations, yet. Most groups enforce a 2 day a week RTO. Aren't we proud? /s

One of the major points that was made to me, to try and get me to move to Alpharetta, was that Verizon was just a block away from the ATT building and I could get a job there if I was laid off after we moved. There are so many people laid off from ATT that go to Verizon, that there's an HR handshake agreement between the companies to just trade people back and forth. And of course, every time you reset an employee, they dump vacation, pension, vested years, etc.

“I am happy with Big John's leadership for AT&T”

Sure Jan, I mean John. Stock is good at 21 when he bulldozed it down from 42? Tell me you wear a pink dress without telling me you wear a pink dress.

Glad you go to office three days a week. Most don’t get that opportunity as they moved their office to a far away land in a sick and twisted game of real-life musical chairs.
Enjoy your Tahoe. You’re going to need it when you run your current car into the ground.
Enjoy filling up the tank twice a week and your tolls as well.
Give my regards to the big loud oaf talking loudly on Teams while you’re at it. And don’t forget to change back into your man clothes before you get home.

I am happy with Big John's leadership for AT&T. Stock price is good now. With my bonus I can afford to buy a Tahoe next year. May be take a vacation to Florida Disney or Cruise. Work is solid. Yes I go to office three days a week, so what? I have worked for this great company for several years and enjoy benefits, 401k, insurance and perks for cell phone discount and fiber. Love this company and our leadership. We are on the right path. Slug union workers don't know how good they have it here. SMH

This looks like a fake post by a C-suite member to keep employees from leaving and going to the competition.
But hey, it's most likely true that all companies have their id--t leaders and toxic culture but for real ... nothing compares to AT&T.
And it's interesting that the OP is on this forum.
