Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

CP Assignment Walkout

I am starting a CP Assignment Walkout thread. Monday morning at 7 am all CP Assignment managers call out for a sick day. Who is with me?

Sick day it is.

If they suspect you're fibbing, like suddenly sick on the day you asked off, remember that you may be asked for proof.

Asked for time off from CP Assignment and was flat out told no!

Most of us were told that any time off approved before the strike started would be honored, but new requests would not. Unfortunately, I had a bunch of outside commitments I've had to cancel.

Self-install! Get Amazon to deliver the nid and fiber. Then create a video. Sounds like such a good plan for residential. (Video should include how to put an end on the fiber if you have the needed tools.)

If an apartment, create a video showing how to find your fiber to x-connect in the building terminal as they are all so well labeled and all are the same type terminals!

Did I forget to mention the neighborhood fiber x-box? Probably not important account we lost 99.999999% of customers at this point.

Yeah, anybody can do that!!!!

The company will self implode if they continue down this path. They are purposely pushing their valued employees out the door.

"Bless your heart thinking this is still a rule."

It is still a rule. For many of us. Remember there were multiple retirement plans and depending on which one you fell within MR-75 calculation makes a big difference. That's what a lot of people are hanging on for.

Take note: CP managers who are non-exempt ARE protected by the NLRA. While you cannot walk of the job by yourself, if you and other non-exempt employees share a common concern about safety, you can demand the employer to address it and walk off the job on the grounds of it being a concerted activity.

I personally think the training was grossly inadequate and arguably downright negligent. I have witnessed the instructor passing those who could not remove the ladder from the truck without assistance. You think AT&T will pay for your medical bills when you inevitably injure yourself? Good luck with that.

Then there's the storm, heat, and smoke. An Arizona tech died from heat stroke in her van last July. The company took care of her really well, it only took them nearly an hour to find her.

Take care of yourself, because you're the only person who has your best interest.

Bless your heart thinking this is still a rule.

It apparently is for some legacy groups.

Hopefully we can get rid of the Anglo Saxons, just like Haiti. Now, that's a righteous place to party like there's no tomorrow.

From the union - Yesterday, our bargaining team met with AT&T's representatives several times. Ultimately, the day ended with the company walking away from the bargaining table.

One day of sick call won't work.

Already planned on it. Glad I’m not alone. Been three weeks out of state without seeing my wife and three little ones. This ain’t the military.

CP assignments have been a known condition of management employment. Now get your butt up that pole.

The Atlanta training center is full of office workers with many wearing slacks so, you figure it out. Heard they were going to do installs. 😂😂. Stankey’s big contingency force. Be safe out there because you are just a number to be surplussed at a later date.

“What a joke, we had no clue what we were supposed to be doing and ended up walking away.”
You should have been more proactive during training to ask questions and ask for more practice.

Too bad you don't have time to interview. Your wife is going to have to start sending out applications for you lol.

I’ve been on assignment for 3 weeks and my wife is already saying I should start looking for another job and I don’t disagree.

If we had a loyal customer base here, I'd feel different, but it's obvious we are just cash cow for a select few, and a lost cause for most.
Watched a Cox Comm employee take one away today, can't really blame the subscriber, had teenage kids.

This is ridiculous. You can’t expect people to be away from their families for this long like we’re in the military. What a shatty azz company this is. Who does this to their employees?
