Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Its so hard in this economy

I couldn’t imagine missing an entire month of pay.

A lot of people suffering for nothing.

The offer was more than reasonable and you know it. Destroying your finances will take you 8 years to recover from. Is it really worth it?

Hey RV Gatlinburg guy--see you tomorrow unless you're going to burn some vacation time. 😉 😘

the strikers in my local are ok.

Well apparently a lot of people in the district aren't okay if the CWA is setting up what amounts to a Gofundme.

The union officials still get paid, who care about the workers

“ how about you ask your 'captain' if there's a brother or sister's power bill you can pay? It's hotter'n sh-t and power bills aren't always predictable.”

Sure wished these company sycophants on here were as concerned about the contract and how they treat employees, as someone’s power bill. Already asked and the strikers in my local are ok. I believe you are a troll. You worry about your’s and we will worry bout ours. I might make some extra at Harrah’s to donate more upon return. In Unity!

It’s sooooo tough….how tough is it? It’s soooooo tough that I’m going on a vacation trip to Gatlinburg, mountains and a stop at Harrah’s this coming week. See you back on the picket line end of next week. I left some money to buy a couple lunches with the picket line Capt. Stay strong and in unity! 💪

There's the jerk telling the youngun's to "hold the line." Sc--w Door Dash; how about you ask your 'captain' if there's a brother or sister's power bill you can pay? It's hotter'n sh-t and power bills aren't always predictable.

West update is bleak.
Hopefully the CWA doesn’t force the employees to lose their wages by striking.

Sounds like the company isn't willing to be as nice about healthcare benefits either. CWA wasted a month on the ratification vote. So no, the company isn't going to be amenable to offering back pay.

Also, whoever is writing for d( doesn't know the difference between 'implied' and 'inferred.'

So far, Stankey is still standing. And it's a strong Stank. A lofting, virulent Stank of stellar proportions.

The sad thing is some techs may walk away for good yo pay their bills by taking a non union job elsewhere.
Defeats the purpose

8 years to make up for a month of lost wages huh? That’s some gloom and doom.

And missed car payments, house payments, credit card debt and interest, marks on credit report for modified payment plans. Yeah, I can see it taking a long time to clean up (tho' maybe not 8 years), unless you're one of the boomer union dudes with RVs, lake houses, and boats who like to come bragging. Just sell a few toys saying you're downsizing, and you're good to go.

I honestly wouldn't put it past this company to hire some outside firm to work social media and rumour boards pushing at&t propaganda.

I feel bad for the west. They were unduly influenced by the southeast walking out. They shudda ratified their contract
