Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Time to move on

Verizon is a total mess right now. Even if you're not part of the layoffs, you'll still feel the impact through increased workloads or the constant stress hanging in the air. Do yourself a favor and start looking for something new, and then leave as soon as you can. With more layoffs on the way, sticking around simply isn't worth it.

I agree. To all the slackers, you should jump ship now before it sinks. We all know who you are already. But this time, you can't hide your incompetence & your lies anymore with "doing more with less". Good luck and may the best man or woman win this corporate game!

Jesus, welcome to corporate life in 2024! It’s not that bad and Verizon is far from alone in this regard. This isn’t your grandpa’s work world any more. Su-k it up!

I'm a stockholder and it's great they are RIF employees. Less cost and more for me as a stockholder. Cut more...

I just got a promotion. I like being here. Some of yall never struggled and it shows, every company has its problems.

The package offered was good, if you fit the criteria. You needed to weigh your years with the company, how many years you need to remain in the workforce, and how far you are from age 65 (Medicare). If you were of retirement age, it was a no-brainer. If you have many years left in the workforce, you had to consider a job hunt and potential change in income (ex. maybe you don't earn as much in your next job). Staying at VZ is the "devil you know" and rolling the dice on finding another job with similar pay, benefits and commute is not for everyone. My peers who left all had well over 20 years at VZ. I only know 1 person who had under 10 and was not of retirement age.

The packages are good. Not sure why anyone should have stayed after the last VSP.

whats the plan past being "the #1 applied AI company" or "lower costs by offshoring/rightsizing and letting consulting companies innovate for us"
