These things are cyclical.
Job market will improve, if it doesn’t we will have bigger problems in a year or so.

Don’t quit until you get that third interview for one of fake job openings that are being advertised. All of you can join that group who are looking for work, applying for hundreds of jobs and not even getting a response back.

“The younger people are going to be out the door as soon as they can find other jobs. What they are going to remember is never work for a union sponsored company again.”

I’m in a technical IC in management (no union), I’m in my late 20’s, and I want out of this shithole company as fast as possible.
I think ALL young people union or not want out of here.

Congrats union slugs, enjoy reading all the concessions you agreed to.

“Don’t worry all the young and new CWA members will remember this the rest of their lives. They will save up for each contract expiration, the rest of their careers. Have to say has an old timer, proud that the younger people held the line because a lot of this was for them.”

“Too bad.. Can't wait to see all the union chimps laid off to offset this nonsense.”

Layoffs always happen, irrespective of the contract. That’s a given for all employees, BAU. We expect layoffs, many of us were waiting on it so we can take SIPP and leave, nice little send off package. You should direct your vitriol towards leadership because you seem very frustrated. The union didn’t change the trajectory of the company by adding 150 billion debt to the bottom line.

Managers get ready for layoffs. Unfortunately that’s what is coming next. Hopefully karma comes after only all of those managers that had a lot to say about this strike. Let’s go!

"modest monthly increases in the final two years"

Start saving now as you will need reserves to cover basic Healthcare for 2 consecutive years, followed immediately by weeks without pay when the proposed Contract ends.

FROM CWA D9 FACEBOOK:

The new contract in the Southeast covers 17,000 workers technicians, customer service representatives and others who install, maintain and support AT&T’s residential and business wireline telecommunications network in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Wages and health care costs were key issues at the bargaining table, and the five-year agreement includes across the board wage increases of 19.33%, with additional 3% increases for Wire Technicians and Utility Operations. The health care agreement holds health care premiums steady in the first year and lowers them in the second and third years, with modest monthly increases in the final two years.

Don’t worry, the few union scabs that crossed worked for free just like the CP managers had to for Stankey without any OT. Hope they honor their word about compensating the CP because they were forced or had to quit. We all know how that feels and I hope all CP managers will remember that in the future except, our forced OT never stops. That’s why OT caps matter!

Glad everyone is back, but the "brothers and sisters" language is a bit cringe. You are skilled employees who have an agreement with CWA for representation. Just seems a bit much. Kudos on the agreement.

“ Getting $300 for the next 40 hours of work. That has to burn.”

Go away, more disinformation. Your mommy is calling you upstairs for dinner. Last gasp of a failed assignment, tell your mom Andy says Hey 👋.

Good job. If true we might have a template for the other regions. However hard to believe the overall cost of this labor component will go up 30% over the next 4-5 years. I would expect there will be a shift in capital deployment to eliminate OT, at the very least. Been awhile but worked in a yard with AP techs. Remember them talking about dispatching on alarms in abandoned cable because the records weren’t updated. Don’t know if this is still the case, and obviously won’t move the needle on wages, but they will be looking under every rock on labor costs.

“ What, no ULP? It was Economic all along”

Nope ULP charges are still filed, it’s just the company decided to bargain in good faith and stick around until it got done. Of course all the details of the contract came into play after good faith bargaining happened. Proud of my brothers and sisters who stayed strong and in unity! 💪. It’s been an honor, we had each other’s back!

Sorry sycophant you were insignificant in the negotiations, it happened despite your best attempts of disinformation.

“ Thanks guys for you all holding the line and going without paychecks for a month. Here's a measly contract, be glad you've got a job at this point.”

Don’t be hurt, Stankey will take care of you. He has a significant compensation package for all the social media sycophants, it’s called severance.

We have a Tentative Agreement for BST, Utility Ops, and Billing. 9/15/24 3:20PM

Details are still coming as I’m on a call with District 3. The plan is for employees to return to work starting tomorrow. For those that work Midnight shifts and need extra time, you will be able to return tomorrow at midnight if need be instead of midnight tonight. Everyone one else will be expected to report tomorrow at your regular times. MRF Payments will still be paid this week.

Another email should come out closer to 4pm with some Highlights of the TA.

I’m putting together a 5pm zoom meeting and will send links to those that have registered for previous meetings. This meeting will be to mainly answer questions about returning to work as I do not have all the details to cover the TA.
