Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Just Got Hit in NYC

I am commercial sales rep in NYC and got call from director because my RM was let go
The director was clearly reading from a script and started out with "Hello your job is impacted and it has nothing to do with your performance"
WTF? I was a sales achiever 8 out of my last 10 years and am forecasting over goal for Q1 and Q2 of FY24
Goodbye Sad Sack Liar Chuck and thanks for nothing
Can't wait until I compete with Cisco at my next company and replace Cisco gear at all my customers!!!!!

NYC office used to be busy with customers but now it is a ghost town while AWS and Arista offices down the block are overcrowded with ex-Cisco customers

that's why you don't stick around after you hit big on your quota. they'll just raise it even higher next year. move onto another account or company

For those criticizing those for calling themselves high achievers for reaching goal, simply do not understand the goaling structure to begin with. Most Goals at Cisco are so out of reach and ridiculously high, when you do achieve them you are pretty proud of yourself. To give you an idea. Your goal may be 10 mil for one account then the following year 20 mil same account; uplifted for no apparent reason and no way to fight it. So yes making goal in the first place is a high achievement.

cisco can't compete when best reps left or were fired and now work at competitors while cisco hires bottom of class graduates on the cheap to replace them

Bulleting senior sales people is the d-mbest thing you can do.

We lost ten senior reps today in Chicago area and they are being replaced with recent college grads which is the kiss of death for Cisco having any chance of keeping those customers

I called my Fortune 100 customer today after I was fired and they are calling Arista and Palo Alto on my behalf requesting that they hire me so I can continue my relationship as they transition away from Cisco

Thinking attaining goal most years makes you a high achiever

My god. How brain dead do you have to be the write that about a sales person. It’s like criticizing an engineer for writing thousands of lines of bug-free code. 🤡🤡

Thats what I am doing now: replacing Cisco at all possible large accounts in my country - meanwhile Cisco is not able grab marketshare from us here lol.

Reducing Cisco's cost of sales in a declining revenue cycle was predicted and is now happening and will continue as Cisco does not have the solutions customers want to buy

Hits us all, I was many times a sales champion, chairmans club and hall of fame - didn't make a bit of difference to anyone but the new competitor who sees paper gold in Cisco certifications and accomplishments.

Chuck is the worst of the worst, only achievement as a CEO is buying companies [also known as buying revenue] and laying off people. How many H1 B's laid off? If you continue to hire H1 B's, and layoff US citizens, then this needs to be investigated. How many H1 B's hired in last 10 years and how many US citizens laid off?

Chuck/Scott/Fran's message to anyone at Cisco 10+ years is 'don't let the door hit you on the way out' so they can rotate more stock into their bank accounts
