Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Your Job Is Not Your Family (Linkedin Post)

(1) Your job is not a family.

(2) Your boss is not your friend.

(3) Your company will never be loyal to you.

(4) Remember a job is just a job.

(5) Be loyal to you, not to the corporation.

(6) You will always be replaceable to them, but never to your family nor loved ones.

(7) One of my former companies called me family because I was a top performer. When I chose to quit, they forced me to leave the same day and replaced me shortly after. No one ever spoke to me again. That’s the price of “loyalty” to a company.

(8) Work is not a family

OP sounds like the type of guy that cheats on his wife, asks for a divorce then blames her for moving on with her life

I agree with the post except for point 7. How do you see leaving to go work for a competitor as "loyalty"? Sounds like they were hurt you weren't "loyal".

But what if you fly them all out for your wedding?
