Be aware the day VZ announced RIFs that morning my desk computer was turned off to access anything. The next was that dreaded phone call to meet in a conference room.

That actually happen when I got RIF back in 2003. That is when VZ had a traditional pension so my payout was good amount. I was relieved to leave after 30 years with GTE/VA
