Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Thank you to those who speak up

On behalf of probably 95% of management, I’d like to thank those who speak up in town halls, in everyday meetings, and in particular, on the recent viva engage post regarding CRE. C suite has made it clear they don’t care what we have to say, but thank you for continuing to say it anyway. Fu-k RTO.

Great post, and it's encouraging to see so many people speaking up about critical workplace issues. The concerns raised here tie into a larger conversation happening across industries, especially with the ongoing wave of mass layoffs. For anyone interested, this article dives into how layoffs in the tech industry are impacting companies like AT&T, and what it means for employees facing uncertain times. Take a moment to read it and see how these trends might affect your own role or industry.

PLE exists because of survey feedback. Health insurance was improved 7 or 8 years ago because of surveys. There used to be a system where you could submit an idea or vote on ideas, which I think was eliminated. There's not much an employee can do anymore for providing feedback. ATT is stagnant and new employees don't know that within the last few decades there were great opportunities to contribute that no longer exist. You are all operating behind the advantages, not in front of them.

Unless everyone voices their concerns, nothing will change. But realistically, I would put 5 stars on everything and state that everything is wonderful. Not a person at ATT would lay down their career for you. I wouldn't do it for them.

I spoke up. I was told to zip it or face the consequences.

Speak up people. This is free country. Don’t be intimidated. Express your frustration how this company is managed. Stankey needs to hear that every day.

“Speaking up (even in an anonymous survey) is career limiting. If L4 won’t speak up (because they’re scared) then they shouldn’t expect L1 / L2 to risk it.”

Career limiting if you plan to stay at the sh-t hole company, I guess.
But even those who speak up, if done well and professionally, can stand out and get opportunities from others who may not agree with a given path.

Blind followers and yes men is how companies like T, Boeing, etc get to be the way they are.

Just another mechanism to create more excuses for why you are being laid off. They will never dig out of the debt load with new revenue volumes being down while executive compensation continues to rise in conjunction with unlimited amount of money being thrown at ServiceNow.

poor wording on my part, I was referring to the person who only writes "first" as a comment, the "first" fool. I agree with the first person who commented and the OP.

"What do MIDDLE management or union employees have to do with this post? Are you okay?"

Oh silly me...we second class employees are not supposed to know why 95% of management would be "thanking" people on a layoff site??!!?? Especially after the egregious posts over the last few weeks in regard to the strikers?!? Get your whining a** back in the new shared office, brush up on your culture training and wax the knee pads. Come on back in a few weeks so we know you are okay, kay?!?

First off, you're welcome Tim V. Second, what does everyone have against RTO Furniture. I've gotten a refrigerator and loveseat through them and I'm extremely happy.

Speaking up in AT&T is a fool's game. C suite doesn't give a sh-t about employees in US and is doing everything possible to send EVERY job NOT eliminated to Bangalore in the next 2 years.

Talking at town halls indicates employee dissatisfaction. Not being alone is the support many need & appreciate.
