After 25+ years with the company and going through the RTO, WFH, and Hybrid pushes over the last 15 years, I am amazed at the number of people at high levels that are allowed to be fully Home Based.
I'm talking Directors and above in functions like Corp Security, Business Continuity, Network, Legal, Operations...
If you are friends with scotty deloachy over in Miami you do not have to adhere to RTO policies. He will make an exception as he does with so many critical roles.

The more you work from home, the more you prove to Hans and upper management that you job can be performed from anywhere. The next step is offshoring your job, since you have proven that it can be performed from anywhere and VZ is grateful to you for validating and providing them with additional cost savings. Continue to work from home and enjoy, but not for long.
Those that believe VZ can reduce spending of office space by allowing everyone to work from home. If allowed, then employees want VZ to pay a monthly stipend for connectivity upgrades, office supplies, etc. Even though the employee saves by less wear and tear on their auto, less gas, less damage to the environment, and possibly auto insurance savings.
Lets not forget when VZ purchased the HQ building located in Basking Ridge, they quickly sold and signed a 99 year lease. Chances are pretty slim of terminating this lease at a decent price. And unloading the hotel across the street purchased by VZ. This is only one building and there are many others.
The majority of people that work from home are not more productive. This is bs when people use the argument. I live across the street from a golf course where I am a member. There are so many people that play golf 3 days a week that claim to be working from home. Then there are the people that say it gives them the flexibility of taking and picking their kids up from school, going to the gym, and having lunch with friends. Not a lot of WFH time remaining following such a busy day.
Everyone should WFH including Hanns... VZ will save a lot of money without having all that real estate offices, especially Basking RIdge.
Regardless you are required to RTO 5 times a week or Home Based or in between

wfh is a joke ,employees doing their everyday chores on the company dime and high paid emplyees ,just getting over
why would you care if someone classified as "Home based"
how about if you convert to become "home based" , are you going to ask why ? and refused to be home based

I've been with the company close to 30 years. I've been working from home full time for more than 12 years. The rest of my team is scattered across the US and the globe. Why should I go to the closest office to sit with a bunch of H1B's from India? I carry a quota. Something that is very easy to measure. As long as I am over plan and meeting or exceeding all my performance metrics, why should you care?

They have always existed, it just was never displayed in the directory. I worked for more than 20 years remotely full time and knew of plenty of executives that did the same. The difference is that with the pandemic, they decided to update the software that does allow you to see that the person is full-time remote. I see nothing wrong with it.
Not everyone needs to be in the office to get work done or to make decisions. Executives also tend to travel a lot. I know I have traveled plenty because my organization is in many cities and those I interacted with were also in global places. Not sure what your complaint is about but it is busy as usual as this has been the case for decades for many.
