I worked in several big companies, not all of them in banking. WF has proved to be the worst work experience. Office politics is insane, backstabbing casual, and the team toxicity is cleverly encouraged and exploited by management. Whatever actually gets done is only because the pressure to perform is enormous, and leads you to the point where you lose sight of how much you actually work. No wonder people run for dear lives from WF.

The place has become an absolute and total shithole. Get out if you can. Take a little bit of a pay cut to get out if at all possible. Try to put your health and mental well-being first. Once you’re on the other side of this you will kick yourself for not leaving sooner. If you aren’t able to get out, then do whatever you can to prioritize your health and well-being. Take care.
Software engineering is a complete joke when compared to my previous tech companies.
I'm neither agreeing nor disagreeing, but the only backstabbing I see in my tower is from legacy employees who are mad about any form of change and use that anger to attempt to degrade those who simply don't care. Its at a comical level, I dgaf about the change or pressure that is attempted to be put on myself and a few others, we just work to our abilities. No extra hours, nada, and it makes those around is just infuriated enough to complain to management. Not sure why. I don't complain about their poor performance.
nailed it. its actually worse in some larger groups where the functional groups/tribes are so large that instead of partnering to serve the customer, or focusing on winning against Competitor X, whole groups of adults compete with and backstab their own peers daily. world's most toxic daycare.
